Walter Lee Fomby

Walter Lee Fomby was born on December 9, 1969, in Talladega, Alabama to parents Jurel Lee Garrett and Emaline Fomby Walter accepted Christ at a young age while attending Kingston Missionary Baptist Church in Alpine, Alabama. Walter received his education in the Talladega City School System where he attended Talladega High School. Throughout his life, he developed a passion for sports, particularly the Auburn "War Eagles." He would eagerly gather with friends and family to cheer on his favorite team, their victories bringing him immense joy. Though Walter faced challenges, he embraced life with determination and courage. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and his unwavering love for his family. He will be forever remembered for his gentle spirit and the love he shared with his relatives and friends. Walter brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Walter Lee Fomby, a beloved member of the Talladega community, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jurel Lee Garrett and Emaline Fomby. Walter leaves loving memories that will forever be cherished by his son, Waderrius Tuck; two daughters, Cariah Fears and Keeira Tuck; he will also be deeply missed by his six brothers, Jimmy D. Fomby, Larry D. (Sadaka) Fomby, James L. (Ramone) Fomby, Sammy D. Fomby, Anthony A. Fomby, and Tracy L. (Danielle) Fomby; he had a special bond with his two sisters, Bertha Fomby and Juliette Fomby, who will forever remember his laughter and the positive impact he had on their lives. Additionally, Walter is survived by his extended family, including his sisters and brothers of the late Jurel Lee Garrett; nine grandchildren, TyKayla Fears, Tyrone James, Jr., JoKaulioun Kelly, Kash Kelly, A'Carlei Kelly, Kehlani, Kahlani Tuck, Zayden Hunt, Lai'loni Kirksey; special nephews, Quincey Fomby and Stephen Fomby; and a host of other nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, friends, and a special friend. Although our hearts ache with the loss of Walter, we find comfort in knowing that he has found eternal peace and tranquility. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved and influenced during his time with us. As we gather to remember and honor Walter's life, let us cherish the memories we shared with him and find solace in the knowledge that he has left a lasting impact on our lives. May he rest in eternal peace.
