Walter Armbrester, Sr.

Born on October 9, 1950, in Talladega, Alabama, Walter was a cherished son of the Johnny C. Armbrester and Catherine Thomas Armbrester. His legacy will remain forever woven into the fabric of his community and family. A devoted servant of Christ, Walter accepted the Lord at a tender age, joining Pine Hill AOH Church of God, where he served with unwavering faith and dedication. He embodied the spirit of love and kindness, touching the lives of countless individuals, his commitment to church, community, and family a testimony of his remarkable character. Growing up in Talladega County, he received his education in the local school system, equipping him for a fulfilling career in the construction industry as a carpenter and laborer. Walter approached each task with a determination and pride that stood as a testament to his work ethic and craftsmanship. Walter was not only a skilled laborer but also a proud family man. He met the love of his life, the former Della Garrett, as a teenager, and together they nurtured a bond built on steadfast love and mutual respect. Their union flourished, yielding three wonderful children who carry forth his enduring spirit and values. Throughout his life, Walter radiated warmth, creating an environment where family and friends felt cherished and included. He was an avid outdoorsman, passionate about gardening, and relished entertaining loved ones with his infectious dance moves to "BOOTS ON THE GROUND," filling their lives with laughter and joy. Deacon Walter Armbrester, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him answered the Master's call on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 75, saying "Well done my good and faithful servant" while in the comfort of his home embrace by his loving family. While our hearts ache with the loss of Walter's earthly presence, we find comfort in the knowledge that he is now reunited with his beloved parents, Johnny and Catherine Armbrester, son, Walter Armbrester, Jr., grandson, Daquan Davis, great-grandson, Kashton Marbury, and siblings, Roy Armbrester, John Henry Armbrester, Larry Armbrester, Edward Armbrester, James Armbrester, Mabel Garrett, Mannie H. Swain, Annie Pearl Armbrester, Liza Joe Armbrester, and Mae Lizzie Garrett. His laughter, his generous spirit, and his strong faith have left an indelible mark on all our hearts. Deacon Walter Armbrester leaves a legacy of love and memories to forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of over 48 years, Della Armbrester; son, Dwan Armbrester; daughter, Devan Armbrester; grandchildren, Ladaysha Armbrester, Trevan Armbrester, Cavarious Armbrester, Ty Pope, Dustani Armbrester, Braylon Armbrester, Heaven Armbrester, Nevaeh Armbrester, and Devonte Avery; great-grandchildren, Amari Armbrester, Nyomi Twyman, Kyson Twyman, Emery Smith, and Xicaiden Caver; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, whose lives he touched with his kindness and laughter. As we come together to celebrate a life well-lived, we invite all who knew and loved Walter Armbrester Sr. to join us in remembrance. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will forever resonate in our hearts, guiding us as we move forward, holding close the memories of a truly remarkable man.
