Veronica Green

October 13, 1970, in Talladega County, Alabama, Veronica Ann Green, a beautiful baby girl, was welcome to the world by her parents, James Frank Wilson and Ida Pearl Green. Veronica brought light and love wherever she went. Her infectious smile, warm personality, and impeccable style made her a beloved figure in the Lincoln community. As a youth, Veronica accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of St. Mary Baptist Church. Veronica's faith guided her through life's journeys and endeared her to all who knew her. With heavy hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude for the vibrant life lived, our beloved Veronica Ann Green, cherished and adoring mother, and doting grandmother, peacefully answered the Master's call surrounded by her loving family at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. No one heard the footsteps of the angels drawing near, God called her name so softly that only she could hear. As the golden gates stood open, God saw you needed rest, therefore his garden must be beautiful because he took the best. As Veronica walked through those gates, she was reunited with her parents, James Frank Wilson and Ida Pearl Green, great-aunt, Susie J. Wilson, grandparents, Lucy Glen and D. Wilson, Ethel Lee Truss and Alexander Green, Godson, Kinsey Leon Weed, siblings, James, Ethel Kate, and Patricia Ann, nephew, Clarence "Red" Green, and sister-in-law, Arianna Green.Veronica's presence illuminated the lives around her in ways that are immeasurable. Although she may no longer walk among us, her memory will live on in the hearts of her two beautiful daughters, Bianca (Xavier) Green and My-Kiya (Camden) Green; her adorable grandchildren, Brianna Green, Layla Duke, and Neveah Mitchell; bonus granddaughter, Alivia Morgan; brothers, Clarence (Kathy) Green, Eugene Green, Bernard (Leah) Green, Thomas Groce, and Larry Groce; sisters, Melody Green, Diane (Lee Henry) Collins, and Bonderia Green; special friend, Daphne Henderson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly. As we prepare to bid farewell to Veronica, let us remember her not with tears of sadness but with smiles of gratitude for having been blessed with her presence. May Veronica's soul find peace in the embrace of her loved ones who have gone before her, and may her memory be a source of comfort and solace during this difficult time.
