Thelma Embry

Born on May 16, 1960, in Talladega, Alabama, to the union of Arthur Embry and Minnie Lee Dozier Embry, Thelma Embry was a beacon of light to all who crossed her path. Thelma's infectious joy and zest for life touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Thelma accepted Christ at a young age and united with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she became a member of Pell City Seven Day Adventist Church. She was educated in the Talladega County School System where she attended Talladega County Training School known today as Talladega County Central High School. Throughout her 63 years of life, Thelma's strong faith and compassionate spirit endeared her to all. Her dedication to her work as a floor lead person in the poultry industry at Koch Foods for over twenty years reflected her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Affectionately known as "Boss T", Thelma was the life of every party. Beyond her professional endeavors, Thelma found joy in the simple pleasures of life - she loved dancing to the rhythm of music and would cut the rug at the beat of any sound, Thelma was ready for whatever life had to offer and she truly lived life to its fullest. Cheering on her beloved Auburn Tigers and savoring moments spent with her family and friends brought warmth and joy to her soul. On Friday, April 19, 2024, Thelma peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest, embracing a reunion with her loved ones who had gone before her including her parents, Arthur and Minnie Embry, brothers, Arthur Embry, Jr. and Gary Embry, and sisters, Yvonne Jackson and Carolyn Wilson. Her departure has left a void in the hearts of those she touched, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in their lives. Thelma has left behind a family united in grief yet bound together by the enduring memories of her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. Thelma's legacy lives on through her loving daughters, Lisa (Darnell) Embry Kelley and Sharonica Embry, whom she raised with boundless love and grace; three brothers, Walter (Cathy) Embry, Terry Embry, and Fletcher Embry; three sisters, Renita Stockdale, Paula Ellis, and Naomi Embry; six grandchildren, Kristopher Embry, Jafrondric Davis, Jr., Makayla Groce, JaKorrian Davis, Seth Cofield, and Madyson Stewart; great-grandchild, Jae'Lani Groce; special friend, John Calhoun; two bonus children, Jonathan Calhoun and Jeanene Calhoun; and a host of loving and caring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly. May her soul find eternal peace and consolation in the embrace of a higher power, and may her memory continue to inspire all of us in the days to come. Thelma's light will forever shine bright in our hearts, guiding us with love and grace.
