Mr. Samuel Ike Turner, Sr. life journey began on May 17, 1942, in Talladega, Alabama, where he was born to the union of Mr. General Turner and Mrs. Elsie Jackson Turner. From a young age, Sam embraced Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a cherished member of Southside Baptist Church. His formative years were shaped within the Talladega County School System, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and service. Once completing his education, Mr. Turner showed resilience and determination, becoming a devoted custodian in the environmental services industry, notably at Regions Bank, where he worked for many years. Sam's spirit was not only marked by his industrious nature but also by his infectious love for music and dance. He was known to light up any gathering with his rhythmic moves on the dance floor, sharing joy with those around him. An ardent believer in community connection, he found camaraderie in playing dominoes, where his keen spirit and gentle demeanor won the hearts of many. On Saturday evening, July 26, 2025, at the graceful age of 83, God saw it best that Mr. Samuel Ike Turner, Sr. find rest when he peacefully answered the Master's call while surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He now sits among the angels at the feet of the Lord. Mr. Turner is now at the beginning of a permanent reign with the Lord in a new heavenly home. As we reflect on Mr. Turner's life, we remember a humble man who embodied kindness and warmth-a steadfast worker, a devoted father, and a friend to countless souls. In his quiet strength, he enriched the lives of his family and friends, some of whom now await him in eternity: his beloved parents, Mr. General Turner and Mrs. Elsie Jackson Turner, along with brothers, Willie Lee Turner and George Turner, and sister, Mary Swain and Ora D. Simmons. Mr. Turner leaves behind to cherish his memories a devoted son, Samuel Ike Turner, Jr.; two loving daughters, Sandra Turner and Regina (Nicholas) Turner; two brothers, John (Pazata) Turner and Sam Turner; sister, Nellie Jean (Robert) Key; eight grandchildren, Samuel Ike Turner, III, Tandi Turner, Steven (Averica) Turner, Kalence Turner, Michael Turner, Carlos Turner, Tiki Turner, and Shoneika Turner; aunts, Callie B. Turner; uncles, Johnny (Annette) Jackson and Howard Jackson; and a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; alongside many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends that will continue to cherish his memories of this remarkable man. As we gather to honor Samuel Ike Turner, Sr., let us remember the joy and laughter he brought into our lives, and the love he so freely shared. May his memory continue to inspire us, as we find solace in the beauty of his life and the promise of eternal peace.
