Samantha Johnson

Samantha Johnson was born on April 16, 1966 and was blessed to have parents, Donald O. Johnson, Sr. and Linna M. Strown Johnson. At the age of 2, Samantha's family migrated to Yonkers, New York in search of better job opportunities. Samantha received her education in the New York City School system and was a graduate of Yonkers High School. Upon graduation, she worked many years in Human Resources as a Social Worker, Counselor, and served as a Mentor to many. After the passing of her sister, Rosland, Samantha returned home to Talladega continuing her public services and helping others. With the heart of gold, and caring spirit she had, there is no doubt Samantha had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age in life. Samantha was a very kind-hearted and loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Her hospitality went beyond measures when it came to helping others. She loved entertaining her family and friends and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed dancing and loved to eat; but most of all she found great joy in loving on her grandchildren. Samantha was such an enthusiastic and fun-loving person, with a contagious personality. She loved her job because she LOVED talking to people. She loved having her family around her and seeing them happy is what drove and motivated her in life. Samantha was DEFINITELY a people person and NEVER met a stranger. She genuinely cared about any and every person she encountered, all along the way touching people's lives in some way, shape or form. She had a beautiful and bright smile that would light up the darkest room. Samantha left an impression on every person she met. She loved life and was grateful for every moment she had of it. On Saturday morning, November 26, 2022, Samantha's 56-year earthly journey was traded for eternal rest when she answered the Master's call while in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She was welcomed home by her father, Donald O. Johnson, Sr. and sister Rosland Johnson. Left to cherish Samantha's memories are four sons, Donnell D. (Sharon) Johnson, Donte D. Johnson, Donovan (Monique) Johnson, and Dondre Johnson; one daughter, Donasia (Alyssa) Farmer; her loving mother, Linna M. Johnson; one brother, Donald O. (Tanza) Johnson, Jr.; two sisters, Angela (Thomas) Blackwell and Allene Flores; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
