Ruth Hunt

Ruth Rojas Hunt, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, started her earthly journey on November 26, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois to the parentage of Guadalupe Rojas and Eunice Rojas. After relocating to Edinburg, Texas, she attended junior high and high school. A woman of faith, Ruth embraced her spirituality at an early age. She had a steadfast belief in God and carried his teachings in her heart daily. Ruth's spirituality guided her through life's challenges and provided her with the strength to persevere. She attended church regularly and was active in the youth group before moving back to Chicago, where she spent the majority of her adult life. While in Chicago, she worked hard at various positions at different restaurants to support her family. Ruth instilled unity and strength within her family. She possessed a rare and beautiful spirit that allowed her to see the good in people. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Her presence was a source of comfort and guidance. Her unconditional love and selfless nature were a testament to the kind of person she was - an angel sent from above to grace the lives of those around her. Along life's journey, Ruth met and married, Clarence Hunt, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and cherished friendship. Theirs was a partnership built on mutual respect, love, and laughter, a testament to the enduring power of a committed relationship. Ruth's earthly journey came to an end on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Rojas and Eunice Rojas, her brother, Thomas Daniel Rojas, and her granddaughters, Amina and Heavyn Jones. Ruth will be greatly missed and her memories will forever be imprinted on the hearts of her loving husband, Clarence Hunt; her four children, John (Virginia) Owens, Christina (Dominquo) Jones, Edward (Niki) Hunt, and David (Mariah) Hunt; and her daughter-in-law, Nena (Terrell) Nettles; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which includes: Maurice, Desiree, Julius, Edniyah, Mya, Jeremiah, NeAndre, Mitchell, Neyonna, Riley, Jayceon, Aariyah, Ne'Air, Trevon, Treshon, Arlo, and Avalia; her mother, Juanita Rojas Alba; her siblings, Sarah (Jose) Saenz, Becky (Israel) Rodriguez, Edna N. (Robert) Rodriguez, Elena (Juan) Hernandez, Adam (Liz) Rojas, and Ruben (Amanda) Rojas; her bonus daughter, Caressa Rollins; her close friends, Charlotte Brooks, Gregory Bea, and Willie Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and literally hundreds of friends. As we bid farewell to Ruth, we take solace in knowing that she is now an angel in the embrace of God, watching over us with love and grace. May her gentle spirit guide us through our sorrow, and may her memory continue to inspire us to live with as much love and devotion as she did.
