Rodney Ronell Cole

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" II Timothy 4:7 With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Rodney Cole, who completed his earthly journey on July 29, 2026, in Anniston, Alabama, at the age of 52. Rodney was born on April 3, 1974, in Lambert, Mississippi, to the late Christopher Cole, Jr. and Alice J. Cole. He was raised with strong family values and a compassionate spirit that remained with him throughout his life. At an early age, Rodney accepted Christ and united with The Visitor's Chapel Church in Lambert, Mississippi, under the pastorate of his beloved grandfather, Rev. Christopher Cole, Sr. His faith and the foundation instilled in him by his family shaped the caring and generous man so many came to know and love. Rodney was a proud graduate of Marianna High School in Marianna, Florida, where he graduated with the Class of 1992. He was known for his outgoing personality, warm smile, and kind heart. Rodney never met a stranger. He had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Those who knew him often described him as a lovable, sweet, and gentle soul-a true "big teddy bear" whose presence brought comfort and laughter wherever he went. A devoted fan of the University of Alabama, Rodney enjoyed cheering on the Crimson Tide and sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends. Above all, he cherished spending time with those he loved. Rodney was united in marriage to JaBethani Simon, and together they shared a life centered on family and love. His greatest joy was being a father to his beloved sons, Emmanuel and Myles, whom he loved deeply and was immensely proud of. Rodney's memories will forever be treasured by his loving wife, JaBethani Simon; his sons, Emmanuel Cole and Myles Cole; his mother, Alice J. Cole; his brothers, Christopher (Loraine) Cole III, LaVon C. Cole, and Chris Denton; his sister, Crystal Denton; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Cole, Jr.; his grandparents, Leoma Lawrence, Lurdelle Lawrence, Rev. Christopher Cole, Sr. and Jannie Cole. Rodney's legacy is one of compassion, generosity, unwavering love for his family, and a heart that always made room for others. Though he will be deeply missed, his gentle spirit, infectious smile, and countless acts of kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
