Mr. Robert "Dap" Williams, III

Mr. Robert Williams, III was one of four children born to the union of the late Robert Williams, II and the late, Mary Reynolds Williams in Anniston, Alabama on June 20, 1944. Mr. Williams 78-year life's journey has truly been a blessing to everyone he has encounter beginning with his youth. Mr. Williams was a dedicated member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church where he served in different capacities, one being a member of the trustee board and earlier in life he was a member of the choir. Robert loved to sing and always had a nice vocal. He received his education in the Calhoun City School System and was a graduate of Cobb High School Class of 1962. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Williams worked several jobs, but his principal objective in life was to be his own boss as a contractor in the construction industry. He eventually accomplished this goal and was very successful in the industry until five years ago when he decided it was time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the retired life. As Robert continued his journey, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Corean Zimmerman Williams and to this union three children were born, Robert, Kathy, and Angela. Later in life, Robert extended his family when he found his soulmate who soon became his wife, Mrs. Lillie Pearl Carr Williams with whom he gained three sons, Rodreke, Rakeem, and Ramundy. Robert was a fun loving, kind-hearted, energetic person who was loved and respected by many people in his city. He was known as the "Jack of all Trades" and loved to make wine. Anytime you ran into Robert, he always had a story to tell. During his 7th and 8th grade years of school, he gained the nickname "Dap" because he forever stayed fresh and clean with his clothes always starched and creased, accented with a pair of Stacy Adams shoes. Robert loved to dress and stay "FLY" or "GQ" as some would say. On Thursday, September 22, 2022, after God had graciously given Robert to us for seventy-eight long earthly years, he felt it was time for him to peacefully close his eyes one last time to this earthly world, accept his new wings and take flight to his new eternal home. At his new home, he was greeted by his parents, Robert and Mary Williams, II, children, Ramundy Williams, Robert Earl Williams, and Kathy Williams, and siblings, Georgia Green, Franklin Williams, and Billy Ray Williams. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Lillie Pearl Williams; children, Angela Elston of Jacksonville, AL, Rodreke Carr and Rakeem (Tamisha) Carr of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Jomekia Gambles and Brandell Elston, Jr. of Anniston, AL, Gia Carr of Chattanooga, TN and Rodreke Carr, Jr. of Nashville, TN, Jakorie Carr of Anniston, AL, Aten Carr of Chattanooga, TN, Cordell Burns of Nashville, TN and Karter Jones of Anniston, AL; great-grandson, Jayvion Chambers of Anniston, AL; aunts, Katheryn Reynolds of Chicago, IL, Costella Ware of Anniston, AL and Betty Ray of Chattanooga, TN; special niece, Shelia Carr of Oxford, AL; brothers-in-law, Chester (Tina) Carr of Anniston, AL and Timothy (Angela) Carr of Bronyx, NY; sisters-in-law, Patricia Adams of Anniston, AL, Denise Carr of Anniston, AL, and Ella Sue Hopkins of Louisville, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Although a pillar of the community has gone before us, Mr. Robert "Dap" Williams, III has left a legacy of love and memories behind and he will truly be missed by all the lives he has touched.
