Michael Fluker

Mr. Michael J. Fluker, Sr. a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, began his earthly journey on August 12, 1962, in Talladega, Alabama, born to Mr. Joseph Fluker and Elizabeth Benjamin Fluker. From an early age, Michael accepted Christ, uniting with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith flourished throughout his life. He received his formal education within the Talladega County School system, culminating in a diploma from Talladega County Training School. Answering the call of duty, Michael proudly served in the United States Army, dedicating over six years to his country before returning to civilian life. As a machinist at Georgia Pacific, Michael embodied the spirit of dedication and hard work, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike. It was in the tapestry of life that he would meet and marry the love of his life, Beverley Kelley-a union strengthened by deep affection and unwavering support. Together, they forged a loving and sacred marriage, along with a blessed family. Michael was a man of many passions, a devoted family man who reveled in the joy of togetherness. He cherished moments shared with loved ones while embracing the great outdoors, especially his beloved fishing whether it was on the riverbanks or just a nice excursion. His heart beat in rhythm with the Alabama Crimson Tide, a testament to his unwavering loyalty as a lifelong fan. Whether it was meticulously tending to his lawn or showcasing his culinary talents in the kitchen while cooking, Michael approached life with a zest that inspired those around him. On June 30, 2025, Mr. Michael J. Fluker, Sr. peacefully transitioned from this earthly home of labor to eternal rest, embraced by the grace of his Master while under the care of the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He is welcomed into eternity by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Fluker, daughter, Shavon Fluker, granddaughter, Daniya Tanner, and sisters, Suzette Fluker and Sylvia Shirel. Mr. Fluker's legacy endures through his devoted wife, Beverley Fluker; sons, Antwan J. Fluker and Michael Fluker, Jr.; brothers, Richard (Tesa) Benjamin and Anthony (Kathie) Fluker, Sr.; sisters, Joann (William) Stockdale and Belinda Fluker; bonus nephew, Aquil "Que" Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory with love. As we gather to celebrate the life of Michael, we invite all who knew and loved him to reflect upon the cherished moments shared-and to remember him not with sadness, but with joy and gratitude for the time we were privileged to share. His love and legacy will forever shine in our hearts.
