Melissa Baker

Melissa Baker was born on April 12, 1960, in Lincoln, Alabama to the union of Johnathan Embry and Doris Groce Embry. She received her formal education in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School. Melissa was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Her outgoing personality drew people in, and her laughter was infectious. She was a proud fan of the Auburn Tigers, always ready to cheer on her team with enthusiasm. Above all, Melissa cherished her family. She loved attending family gatherings, creating memories that will forever echo in our hearts. Along Life's journey, Melissa met the love of her life, William Baker. They were united in holy matrimony on February 22, 2002. Together, they shared years of love and companionship. On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Melissa answered the Master's call and entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by parents, Johnathan and Doris Embry; brothers, Donnie Embry and Wyatt Embry; mother-in-law, Ester Baker; and stepdaughter, Sha'Donna R. Baker. Melissa's loving memories will forever be etched in the hearts of her husband, William Baker; son, Chaddrick L. Embry; grandchildren, Joetavius Embry, Lazoria Embry, Sanquez Embry, and CharLaija Woodgett; great-grandchild, Jomari Embry; stepchildren, Cynthia A. Baker, Wykeisha Baker, and Rachel Farmer; sisters, Barbara Embry, Eunice Embry, and Nyree Embry; aunts, Annie Embry and Hazel Chatman; uncles, Paul Embry, Louis Orr, and Jerry Miller; sisters-in-law; Nellie (Michael) Ellis, Patsy Cottonham, Lorraine (Harry) Lawler, and Connie Embry; brothers-in-law, Willie Baker, Clyde Baker, Randy Baker, and Stacey Baker; fur baby, Halfpint; special friends, Rhoda Brunson, Virginia Hernandez and Brenda Sue Nail; a special great-nephew, Jaleke Embry (Chocolate Milk) ; and a host of other family members and friends. As we reflect on Melissa's life, let's remember her not with sorrow, but with the joy she brought into our lives. Let us celebrate her memory by carrying forward the love, hard work, and dedication she embodied so beautifully. Fly high, Melissa-your spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
