Leamon Thomas Jemison, Sr

Leamon T. Jemison was born to the union of the late John Thurman Jemison, Sr. and the late Willie Lee Craig Jemison in Talladega, Alabama. Leamon accepted Christ at a young age and united with Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He received his formal education in the Talladega County School System. Once completing his education, Leamon began working in the piping industry for many years before retiring; however, his primary passion was making furniture and upholstery work. He was known for his good quality work, time and effort that was put into making all sorts of fine furniture. Leamon loved fishing and cooking for his grandchildren. When it came to his grandchildren, his love was unconditional. On Monday evening, January 16, 2023, the Lord released peacefully from all pain, Mr. Leamon T. Jemison, and called him home for eternal rest while under the care of Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Audrey Brown Jemison, parents, John and Willie Jemison, Sr., son, Leander Boyd, daughter, Eulalia Sistrunk, brother, John T. Jemison, Jr., and sisters, Pearlie Mae Jemison, Pauline Hardnett, Cora Lee Taylor, Louise Jemison, and Willie E. Madison. Leamon's memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of his five sons, Edward Sistrunk, Dave Sistrunk, Thomas L. (Marietta) Jemison, Jr., Carlton Dark, and Adrian (Amber) Sistrunk; four daughters, Yolanda Sistrunk, Benita (Greg) Sistrunk, Kim (Jesse) Russell, and Dawn Boyd; three sisters, Linda Curry, Yvonne Arnold, and Mary Joyce (Sam) Steen; his grandchildren, Lance (Amy) Russell, Jesse (Betsey) Russell, Jr., Andre (Shaquettia) Sistrunk, Derrick (Shay) Sistrunk, Donquarius Boyd, Stantavious Sistrunk, Cortez Sistrunk, Gregory Oden, Jr., Shavonda (Marhall) Swain, Quen Mosley, Edward (Whitney) Mosley, Brian Sistrunk, Tequila Allen, Tenika Allen, Derrick Wilson, Audrey Jemison, Tamia Jemison, Tekii'a Sistrunk, and Ajal Ward; great-grandchildren, Tekayla Russell, Rhylan Jemison, Zaniyah Robinson, Jesse Russell, III, Breanna Cochran, Kayne Cochran, Jaylandis Sistrunk, Javis Sistrunk, Jahari Sistrunk, Jordan Swain, Jayla Swain, K'Derrian Sistrunk, Niylah Forbes, Alani Sistrunk, Alex Allen, Haquila Allen, Aniah Allen, Cameron Allen, Naomi Christian, Zavonna Wilson, LaBrandon Davis, and Auriunna Twyman; special companion for over 24 years, Joann Curry; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
