Johnnie Davis

Born on January 1, 1949, in Shelby County, Alabama, Mr. Davis was a cherished son of Yancy and Mattie Dates Davis. He lived a life adorned with faith, love, and a steadfast commitment to God, whose service he embraced from a young age as he became a devout member of Scotts Grove Baptist Church. Throughout his life, Johnnie showcased his God-given talent in gospel music, singing with numerous groups and traveling extensively to share his voice and the message of the Lord. His soul-stirring performances were a testament to his unwavering faith, and he touched many lives along the way. Mr. Davis received his education within the Shelby County School System, culminating in his graduation from Shelby County Training School. His thirst for knowledge was further pursued at N.F. Nunnally Technical College, where he earned an associate degree in collision and detailing, setting the foundation for a successful career in the automotive industry. On December 31, 2024, just one day before the celebration of his 76th birthday, Mr. Johnnie Davis answered his Master's call saying "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant" as he peacefully transitioned from labor to eternal rest joining his parents, Yancy and Mattie Davis, and grandmother, Mamie Dates. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his warm and fun-loving spirit. Johnnie is survived by his beloved sister, Sharron Davis; brothers, Cletis (Cassandra) Davis, Yancy B. (Erica) Davis, and Warren (Patricia) Frazier; as well as his bonus mother, Annie M. Davis. He is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who were touched by his vibrant personality and unwavering faith. Johnnie Davis lived life fully expressing his thoughts candidly and with conviction, yet always rooted in love for God and his community. His passion for discussing and sharing his faith with others was a hallmark of his character, serving as an inspiration to all who knew him. In this time of mourning, we reflect, we celebrate, and we hold close the lasting impact that Johnnie Davis made on all our lives. While we grieve his passing, we also rejoice in the knowledge that he now rests eternally in the presence of his Heavenly Father, having answered the call, "Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant."
