Jacqueline Holt

Mrs. Jacqueline Bethany Holt was welcomed to this world on July 7, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri by her loving parents, the late Joseph Bethany and Druseller Huntley. She grew up in a Christian home that instilled in her a sense of faith that she carried with her always. Through God's blessings, she confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Sam Williams at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church II in St. Louis, Missouri. Jacqueline was educated in the St. Louis Public School District and received her high school diploma from Ritenour High School. She later earned an Associate of Arts degree in music from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. From her youth, Jacqueline was surrounded by the harmonies that her family of musicians lovingly shared. Her passion for music resonated through her life, bringing joy to all who were fortunate enough to hear her play and sing. While living in St. Louis, she used her God given talent at First Baptist of Elmwood Park, Union Missionary Baptist Church, and New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church II as the minister of music. She was also one of the founders of Combination of Praise Singing (COPS) Ministry. In 1999, she relocated to Nashville, TN and continued the work of the Lord with the Community Christian Church. She later moved to Anniston, Alabama where she would continue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through her music at Mount Pleasant Church in Piedmont, Alabama and the Springhill Baptist Church in Bynum, Alabama. Along life's journey, Jacqueline met and united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Maurice Holt. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband who stood by her side throughout life's joys and challenges. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, while in the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Jacqueline transitioned from this earthly life into her eternal home to sing praises in the heavenly choir. She was welcomed by her parents, Druseller Huntley and Joseph Bethany and her brother Donny Hathaway. Her memories will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Maurice Holt; bonus children, Laurrisa (Michael) Thomas, Betty Holt and Roderick Young; sister, Minnette Huntley; brother, Laval Huntley; sisters-in-law, Eulalah Hathaway, Vickie Thomas, Debra Dorman, Gwen (Cliff) Kennebrew; brother-in-law, Joe Thomas; nieces, Eulalah "Lalah" Hathaway, Kenya Hathaway, Shaunte Miles and Vanita (Shawn) Mosley; nephews, Dominic Huntley and Dorian Huntley; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-nieces; 1 great-nephew, and a host of friends and other family members. She shared her musical talents widely, coming from a musical family deeply rooted in their Christian faith. In her passing, we are reminded to cherish each moment and find joy in the music of life, just as she did. May her spirit find peace as her melody echoes on in the hearts of those she touched.
