Harriet Hart

Ms. Harriet Scott Hart, a beloved, sister, aunt, and friend known for her unwavering faith and commitment to family and her Presbyterian Oaks community was born on January 22, 1949, in Talladega, Alabama. She was the cherished daughter of Clem H. Scott and Dora Castleberry Scott and one of six siblings. Throughout her life, her dedication to God and those around her shone brightly. From her modest beginnings in a large family, she embraced a deep devotion to family, faith, God, and service. Harriet's unwavering commitment to her family and her community was evident throughout her life. With her early spiritual journey beginning at Peace Missionary Baptist Church and continuing at Africa Missionary Baptist Church, she finally found her church home at Jacob's Chapel C.M.E. Church. Her deep-rooted faith guided her every step, filling her life with purpose and devotion. An educated woman, she graduated from Westside High School and went on to further her studies at Gadsden State College. Harriet proudly served at the Talladega County Courthouse until her retirement, where her kindness and dedication were felt by everyone she encountered. Loved ones will remember Harriet for her vibrant spirit, her passion for cooking, and her love for playing bingo, often gathering with her church family and friends to bring laughter and joy into their lives. Harriet's unconditional love, wisdom, and kindness touched everyone, creating warm memories that will last forever. As time winds its course, we look ahead to a future where Ms. Hart's spirit transcends this earthly realm, as she embarks on her journey towards eternal peace. On Monday, May 19, 2025 as the heavens open their gates to welcome a beautiful soul, Ms. Harriet Scott Hart will be remembered for her genuine spirit, compassion, and dedication to all who crossed her path. In her transitory, she now joins her parents, Clem and Dora Scott, brother, Willie Dean Scott and sister, Frannie Scott. In the tapestry of memories that remain, Ms. Hart leaves behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and firm familial ties. Her presence will forever resonate in the hearts of her two loving children Tracie M. Scott of Pell City, Alabama and Rodney C. (Odessa) Scott of Norwalk, Connecticut; brother, Edward Charles Scott of Talladega, Alabama; sisters, Lillie Jean Scott and Vanessa Scott both of Norwalk, Connecticut; grandchildren, Jacolby (Jasmine) Scott, Christian Scott, and Patrick Scott ; great-grandchildren, Zy'Niya Scott, Kayleigh Scott, Jazlyn West, and Kason Howse; and a multitude of loving, caring, and adorable nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. May her legacy of love, faith, and compassion forever linger in the hearts of those she touched as we bid a fond farewell to this remarkable soul.
