Gloria White

Gloria Ann White, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister was born on November 8, 1945, in Talladega, Alabama to Ms. Maddie Ragland Embry . Mrs. White was a woman of grace and strength, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She derived great joy from her roles as a home health aide, seamstress, custodian, and homemaker dedicating her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home. She found comfort and deep contentment in the simple joys of life including cooking, sewing, making crafts, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Throughout her life, Mrs. White remained a faithful and devoted member of her church, Freewill Church of God in Christ in Lincoln, Alabama and the community. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Culinary Committee, and demonstrating her commitment to selflessly assist others. Known as the "junior mother" of her church, Mrs. White always extended a helping hand to those in need and found immense fulfillment in her spiritual journey. Despite not receiving a formal diploma, Mrs. White's thirst for knowledge remained unquenchable. She valued education and encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams and aspirations. She herself was a shining example of resilience and determination. Mrs. White's enduring love and devotion to her late husband, Joseph White was a testament to the extraordinary bond they shared. Together, they navigated life's challenges hand in hand, celebrating countless milestones, joys, and even sorrows throughout their marriage. After 78 blessed years on her earthly journey, Gloria Ann White peacefully passed away on July 7, 2024, while in the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Once Mrs. White answered the Master's call, she was reunited with her husband, Joseph White, three sons, Charlie White, Joseph White, Jr., and Homer White, mother, Maddie Embry, grandson, Shatrick White, Sr., great-grandson, Trayvon White, three sisters, Ruby Williams, Elizabeth Baldwin, and Robbie Lee Embry, three brothers, Walter Ragland, James Embry, and Willie Embry. Mrs. White leaves a legacy of love and memories to forever be cherished by her loving and devoted children; two daughters, Annie (Steve) Taylor and Caroyln (Wayne) Jordan; two sons, Phillip (Camilla) White and Steven (Stephanie) White; special bonus daughters, Vetina Daniels, Melinda Green, Tawanda Curry, Tammy Green, Erica Hill, Dorine Smith, Trinetta Seals, Trina Chapman, and Marshall Fomby; special bonus son, Laddy (Connie) Green; sister, Edna Embry; brother, Samuel (Nellie) Embry; grandchildren, Demetrius (Karen) Taylor, Cameron White, Kristie (Terrance) Dickerson, Angelica White, Steven White, Jr. Anna White, Rajahmel White, Christopher White, Montrell McKenzie, Elisa (Lorente) Burrell, Shelbi White, and Katrell Smith; and a host of great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. As we bid farewell to Mrs. White, we celebrate a life well-lived and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind. Her unwavering faith, unconditional love, and gentle spirit will forever guide and inspire those who knew her. May Mrs. White's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
