With heavy hearts but uplifted spirits, we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Bishop George Lewis Adams, whose spirit gracefully departed this world on December 1, 2025, at his beloved home in Talladega, Alabama, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 5, 1960, to Link Adams, Jr. and Julia Irene Twyman Adams, George was the cherished firstborn son of the Adams Crew, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing him.In 1981, George professed his faith in Christ, embodying the teachings of love, service, and community throughout his life. He became a dedicated founder and pastor of Rest in the Lord Ministries, where he joyfully served for over two decades, becoming a beacon of positivity and inspiration for many. George's thirst for knowledge and growth led him to complete his education within the Talladega City School System, culminating in his graduation from Talladega High School, a proud moment that he cherished throughout his life.After entering the workforce, George embraced a commendable career, ultimately retiring from Imery's in Sylacauga, Alabama-a testament to his hard work and dedication. He took immense pride in providing for his family and devoted his leisure to enjoying the great outdoors, often sharing those treasured moments with loved ones.On February 3, 1990, George united in holy matrimony with his steadfast partner, Dianne Collins. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, blessed with the laughter and joy of their cherished daughter and the countless memories created alongside their children and grandchildren.George is greeted in eternal rest by his father, Link Adams, Jr., his beloved paternal grandparents, Link Adams, Sr. and Lillie Mae Chatman, maternal grandparents, Nettie and Lazarus Twyman, brothers, Jeffery Adams and Steve Adams. However, his legacy will continue to thrive, carried forward by those he leaves behind: his devoted wife of 35 years, Dianne Adams; four loving children, Georeka Ragland, Lucas Whitson, Darea (Marcsco) Lebor, and Destiny (Ashton Sr.) Cohill; his doting mother, Julia Irene Twyman Adams; eight beautiful grandchildren, Da'Kerrion Servant, Xavione McMeans, Ladarrius Brewster, Patrick Whitson, Ashton Cohill, Jr., Asha Whitson, Asia Whitson, and Ari Cohill; two precious great-grandchildren, Zaire Shelborne and Ximora Brewster; siblings, Nellie (Ervin) Swain, Julia (Harrell) Herring, Elizabeth (Willie C.) Garrett, Mary Stevenson, Carolyn (James) Tandy, Henry (Sunnette) Adams, Michael (Tina) Adams, Jonathan Adams, Angela (Patrick) Ashley, and LaTonya (Letrek) Beavers; uncles, Tennyson (Deborah) Adams and Warren Adams; aunts, Patricia King, Cora Adams, and Barbara Ann Twyman; and a wealth of nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends. In this moment of loss, we remember George Adams-not just for the void left in our hearts, but for the entirety of his radiant spirit, his unwavering love, and the countless lives he profoundly impacted.
