Edward Deray Gaston

Mr. Edward Deray Gaston, a cherished husband, devoted father, and loyal family member, was born on July 30, 1978, in Anniston, Alabama where he spent his life surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was the beloved son of the late Jeffrey Gaston and Regina Thomas. Edward embraced his faith at an early age and united with The All American Holiness Church in Anniston. Ed attended Anniston High School with the class of 1996, but his true education came from life's experiences. He was a self-proclaimed "computer guru," always interested in the latest tech trends. An avid gamer, Ed thrived in virtual realms on both Xbox, P.C. and PlayStation, where he formed countless friendships. His infectious spirit and welcoming nature made it easy for him to connect with others, amplifying his joy in competitive gaming. Edward's passion for video games was matched only by his love for GOD, his family, wrestling and movies. Anyone that ever sampled his Sweet Potato Pies and BBQ, will tell you it was the best they have ever had. Early in life, Ed met the love of his life, Juanita Blake-Gaston. Their connection ran deep. Having been friends since sixth grade, they honored their bond by tying the knot on July 22, 2005. Juanita was not just his wife but the bright spot in his life. Ed was a loving son-in-law who was adored by his extended family. If you know Ms. Linda, you have heard about her "good" son in law. On May 17, 2026, while in the comfort of his home, Edward Deray Gaston peacefully transitioned from this life to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffrey Gaston and Regina Thomas; grandparents, Arlene Thomas and Nelson Thomas; great-grandmother, Dr. Annie M. Keels; aunt, Trisceana Thomas; and uncle, Glenn Thomas. Edward leaves behind a family that will forever treasure his memory. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Blake-Gaston; daughters, Latavia Curles, Kynlee Gaston, Kylee Gaston, Jalisa Jones, and Marielle Dimming; sons, Leonta Jones, Christian Hawkins, and K-Royelle Dimming; grandson, Leonta Jones, II; granddaughter, Da'Laigha Carter; brothers, Jeffrey Gaston and Demetrius Gaston; sisters, Niger (Tina) Gaston, Kiara (Rodney) Roy, Carlena Allen, Juliana Swain, and Tykeya Swain; mother-in-law, Linda Swain; stepmother, Veronica Jackson Gaston; nephews, Dominque Swain and Julian Gaines; mentor, Donell Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends. Edward may have left this world, but his spirit will continue to inspire and connect us, reminding us to cherish each moment and each other.
