Earl L. Carr

"6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:6-7 Earl L. Carr, affectionately known by family and friends as "Bean," began his earthly journey on December 27, 1966, in Anniston, Alabama to his parents, Patricia Ann Carr Adams and Calvin "Bubba" Sterling. Earl received his education in the Anniston City School System and attended Anniston High School. He was a devoted Alabama fan who proudly supported the Crimson Tide. His passion for lawn care became an important part of his life and his way of serving others. Earl worked for Drake Lawn Service for 12 years, where his dedication and hard work were well known. Beyond his work, Earl had a giving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He especially enjoyed helping elderly neighbors in his community by cutting their grass. What may have seemed like a simple act of kindness was a reflection of Earl's character-he cared about people and was willing to use his time and talents to make life a little easier for others. Earl will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, love of family, and the many ways he touched the lives of those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on through those who loved him. On Monday, August 31, 2026, Earl transitioned to eternal rest while in the care of UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia Ann Carr Adams and Calvin "Bubba" Sterling; his grandparents, Willie James Carr and Willie Alice Carr; his uncles, Chester L. Carr and Charles E. Carr; and his aunt, Cora M. Carr. Earl's memories will forever be cherished by his sisters, Shelia D. Carr of Oxford, AL and Tamela L. (Derrick) Carr of Oxford, AL; his brother, Toney L. Carr of Anniston, AL; his uncle, Timothy (Angela) Carr of Bronx, New York; his aunts, Lillie P. Williams of Anniston, AL, Denise D. Carr of Anniston, AL, and Sue Hopkins of Louisville, Kentucky; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends. Rest peacefully, Bean. Your work here is done, but your memory will live on forever.
