Devin Madden

Devin Anjelica "Bern" Madden was a light in the lives of all who knew her, her gentle spirit and heart of gold leaving an indelible mark on the world around her. Born on March 21, 1989 in Talladega, Alabama to proud parents Twanda and Dwight Madden, Devin embraced a life filled with faith, love, and compassion. Growing up in Lincoln, Alabama, Devin accepted Christ at a young age while attending St. Mark Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. Elder Huffman. Later in life she found comfort and purpose within her church community, where she devoted herself to guiding and supporting the youth as a youth leader at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Education was a significant part of Devin's life, and she excelled in her studies within the Talladega County School System, graduating from Lincoln High School in the Class of 2007. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to receive a Phlebotomy Technician degree from Core Medical Training Center, showcasing her dedication to learning and personal growth. A talented crafter and a dedicated Mental Health Aide at Rainbow Omega, Devin's warm personality and infectious laughter endeared her to all who crossed her path. Affectionately known as "Bern" by her loved ones, she will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Devin will be remembered for her passion for dancing, a talent that illuminated every gathering she attended. Her infectious energy on the dance floor could outshine anyone in the family that was up for a challenge, leaving lasting memories of her vibrant spirit with all who joined in her artistry. As time winds its course, we look ahead to a future where Devin's spirit transcends this earthly realm, as she embarks on her journey towards eternal peace. While the sun sets on the evening of Saturday, May 25, 2024, Devin Anjelica Madden's earthly journey draws to a close. She is welcomed into eternal peace by her parents, Dwight and Twanda Madden, alongside her brother Darius Madden and sister Tonya Williamson, her grandparents, Calvin and Juanita Elston and John and Annie Mae Madden. In the tapestry of memories that remain, Devin leaves behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and unwavering familial ties. Her presence will forever resonate in the hearts of her brothers, Damian Madden and Cordaryl Embry; Godsisters, Demecia Howard and Kennisha Walker, Kendrea Perkins; Godchildren, Dalyn Pearson, Zykeria Carter, and Mikyah Embry; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Evans, Kamerson Embry, Caesen Embry, Aaliyah Madden, Ameriah Madden, Kardia Embry, and Kaylah Embry; two great-nephews, KyRee Jackson and Daylon Jackson; aunts and uncles, Janet (Anthony) Jelks, Alfreda Mays, Jennifer Shepard, Carola Shepard, Chandra Shepard, Roosevelt Shepard, Mertha Person, Juakia Marshall, Renae (Roger) Jordan, Darry (Vanessa) Elston, Steven (Wanda) Beavers, and Clarence (Betty) Embry; Best friends Destanie Bradford and Crystal Harvey; and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and co-workers who were touched by her warmth and love. In their hearts, Devin's legacy of joy and compassion will live on, a guiding light in times of darkness.
