Mrs Clara L Edison

On January 16, 1931, in Talladega, Alabama, the Mr. Roy Lawler and Mrs. Francis Garrett Lawler welcomed to their union one of seven children, a beautiful sparkling baby girl named Clara. She was loved by many people, especially her seven beautiful and loving children whom she took great care of and gave all the motherly love a mother could give. She was very family oriented, and she enjoyed baking, cooking, and entertaining her family, friends, and loved ones. Sewing by hand and playing a good game of bingo bought her great joy. Her love for her family and friends was evident in every meal she prepared, every stitch she sewed, and every game of bingo she played. She was cherished immensely by her family and all who knew her. At an early age, Clara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Kidd Street Methodist Church, which later became known as New Hope United Methodist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health begin to fail. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System. She later joined the workforce and became a Nurse's Aide at Talladega Healthcare Center where throughout her life, Clara found joy in caring for others, while working as a dedicated Nurse's Aide for many years before retiring. As Clara traveled through this walk of life with her humble spirit and fun-loving personality, she met her beloved husband, Mr. A. D. Edison and to their union came the blessing of seven loving children. On, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Mrs. Clara Lawler Edison, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt transitioned peacefully from this earthly walk of life to her new eternal resting place when she answered the call of her Master saying, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant" while in the care of Talladega Health and Rehab. Greeting her with outstretched arms at those pearly gates of heaven were her parents, Mr. Roy Lawler, Sr. and Frances Lawler, husband, A.D. Edison, son, Samuel Edison, sister, Arbie Turner, and brothers, Roy Lawler, Jr. Jesse Frank Lawler, Arthur Lee Lawler, and John Lawler. Mrs. Clara Lawler Edison leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished and remembered by her two daughters, Ethel Edison and Teresa Terrell; four sons, Timothy Edison, Lonnie (Lonnie) Edison, Christopher (Debbie) Edison, and Zachary (Barbara) Edison; sister, Patricia Neal; sister-in-law, Beulah Lawler; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. May we find comfort in the memories we shared with Clara and honor her legacy of love, compassion, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
