Chance Hunter

Chance Mehki Hunter began his earthly journey on April 17, 2007 when he was born to Mandi Hunter at University of Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Chance confessed Christ at an early age and united with Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God. He was educated in the Talladega City School System where he attended Talladega High School and was looking forward to being a 12th grade student this year and a member of the graduating Class of 2025. He enjoyed working part-time with the maintenance crew in his apartment complex. Chance, affectionately referred to by many as "Baby Chance" and "Chance the Champ" was well known for the love he had for his family, his kind manners, his energetic spirit, and most of all Chance enjoyed reading and talking with children. He would always say, he was a champion at everything he does. He would spend countless hours doing what he loved best which was playing basketball and playing GTA (Grand theft Auto) on his PS5 (Play Station 5). Chance loved his mother, grandmother Tammy, and sister unconditionally. He enjoyed cooking for them and thought he was the best cook in this world. He could do no wrong in his granny, Aunt Landa, and Nook eyes. He was a gamer, and his biggest goal was to invent his own games and take care of his mom and sister who were his pride and joy. He was an awesome boxer and fast on his feet. Chance was really a little man who always kept the house in order, but he had a mouth on him. He was so smart and knew everything. His mother would send him to his Auntie Sheen house for weeks at a time and he would come back so humble. Chance was a respectful and responsible young man who loved to walk the streets of Talladega with his best friend/cousin, R-Jae. He also loved kickboxing and being a YouTuber!! Although fate would prove to be a factor in Chance's life, only God would hold his future in the palm of his hand. Chance Hunter, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend whose life was tragically taken from us on Monday, July 22, 2024, received a call and little did he know, his Master had scheduled that call for his eternal meeting with him so he could leave the troubles of this sinful, evil world behind and join his family that was awaiting him beyond this earthly realm. This would be his great-great grandmother, Jessie Mae Tanner and Ada V. Hunter, great-grandmother, Joanne Benjamin, sister, Shaqueria Greene, aunt, Taskane Hunter, uncle, Derrick Greene, great-aunt, Debra Hardy, great-great auntie, Phyllis Garrett, and great-uncle, Clinton Bernard Stokes, Jr. As we mourn the loss of Chance, we find comfort in celebrating the beautiful life he lived and the memories he leaves behind. Leaving behind to cherish all his love and precious memories are his mother, Mandi Hunter; sister, Myleah Hunter-Strown; brothers, Ky'myis Pettway and Zachariah Hunter; grandparents, Tamala (Billy) Hunter Beard, Robert Swain, and Shawn Greene; great-grandparents, Charles (Nona) Baldwin and Linda Baldwin and Annette Swain; aunts, Kyaira (Corey) Greene Upshaw and Jillian Cavender; favorite great-auntie, Yolanda Hunter; great-aunt and uncle, Clint "Uncle Pie" Starks and Iris Starks; uncle, Karey Chapman, Jr.; special uncle, Santini Hunter; special big brother, Cameron Cole; favorite cousins, Mackenzie Curry, Mahogani Hunter and Steven Hunter; loving cousins, Courtney Hunter and Myrakel Hunter; God Auntie, Sharira Wilson; best friend/cousin, R-Jae Wilson; special cousins, Chynna, N'Dia, and Egypt; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends all of whom will forever hold him close in their hearts. Though Chance may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us of the beauty and fragility of life, and the importance of cherishing each moment with those we hold dear. May his memory be a blessing to us all as we bid farewell to a young soul taken too soon.
