Cathy DeRamus Holloway

Cathy DeRamus Holloway, a compassionate soul with a radiant inner light, was welcomed into this world on November 3, 1957, in Prattville, Alabama by her loving parents, Simuel DeRamus, Jr. and Ruby Lee Minor DeRamus. Educated in the Anniston City School system, Cathy graduated from Anniston High School in 1976. After high school, she continued her education at the University of Alabama and earned a degree in Business Administration which led to a successful career as a manager with Alabama Power. Yet, what truly defined her was her steadfast love for family and her deep faith. Friends and family will fondly remember Cathy for her humor, zest for life, and her good-hearted nature. She knew how to lift spirits and always found a reason to laugh, even in tough times. Cathy was a woman of strong faith and found joy and strength in her relationship with God. She loved attending church regularly. She started her spiritual journey in Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Anniston and accepted Christ as her Savior. Upon moving to New York, where she resided for twenty years, she united with World Changers Church NYC. While living in New York, Cathy met and married her husband of 18 years, Raymond Holloway, Jr. Together, they created a home filled with love and laughter that was shared with their children and grandchildren. On December 18, 2024, Cathy Holloway ascended to her heavenly home to live eternally with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simuel and Ruby DeRamus, brother, Jessie DeRamus, and sister, Vickie DeRamus. Her cherished memories will continue to resonate in the lives of her husband, Raymond Holloway, Jr.; sister, Yolanda L. DeRamus; brother, William B. (Elizabeth) DeRamus; stepson, Raymond (Ngozi) Holloway, III; stepdaughters, Iesha Holloway and Jasmin Williams; 5 grandchildren; aunts, Annie L. Stone and Pearl Wright Minor; uncles, Robert (Bertha) Minor and Benjamin Sloan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. As we gather to reflect on the profound impact Cathy had on each of us, let us remember her not with sadness, but with gratitude for the light she brought into our lives.
