Brenda Johnson

Born on August 1, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama, Brenda's journey began in the arms of her parents, Richard Lee Johnson, Sr. and Mary L. Jackson Johnson. As a cherished member of her family and the community, Brenda's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and compassion.From a young age, Brenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, joining Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, later finding her spiritual home while attending City of Refuge. She received her formal education through the Talladega City School System, proudly graduating from Talladega High School. The call of adventure led her to Chicago, where she served as a mixologist on the Naval Base, forging friendships and collecting memories. Upon her return to Alabama, Brenda embraced a fulfilling career in the healthcare industry as a dedicated nutritionist. Eventually, she chose to retire, allowing herself the freedom to savor life's simple pleasures and pursue her passions.Brenda was a beacon of light, known for her infectious smile and lively spirit. Her love for her family was boundless; she thrived in the joy found within her kitchen, creating meals that brought everyone together. She was a nurturing soul, whose caring nature extended beyond her own family. Her son, David Johnson, was her pride and joy, and she cherished their bond above all else. Brenda's life was filled with moments of laughter, joy, and simple pleasures-be it playing softball with friends or finding comfort by the tranquil banks while fishing. Ms. Brenda Johnson, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend gained her heavenly wings and peacefully accepted her Master's call on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the age of 69, while in the care of Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. She is now reunited with her parents, Richard and Mary Jackson, Sr., and brother, Richard Jackson, Jr. Together with her son David and her beloved family, all who knew Brenda will forever celebrate the beautiful person she was. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her community and friends, whose lives were enriched by her warmth. Brenda's legacy of love and her sweet spirit will live on and forever be cherished and remembered by her son, David (LaFaye) Johnson; three brothers, James E. (Brenda) Johnson, Michael J. Johnson, and William L. Johnson; three sisters, Peggy A. Hall, Susie M. Johnson, and Essie R. Garrett; two cousins who were like brothers, Clint Johnson and Tyrone Johnson; three bonus grandchildren, Jarvis Wilson, Maurquez Wilson, and LaJasmine Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. As we reflect on Brenda's extraordinary life, let us remember her as a radiant soul who brought joy and comfort to all. May we honor her memory by cherishing our time together and celebrating the bonds of family and friendship that she exemplified so beautifully. Rest in peace, dear Brenda; you will be profoundly missed yet forever hold a sacred place in our hearts.
