Bobbie Wright

On November 13, 1961, in Anniston, Alabama, Barbara Jean Wright graced the world with her sweet spirit. Barbara, affectionately known as Bobbie, was a God-fearing woman and worshipped Him at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Hobson City where she sang in the choir, lending her beautiful voice to the spiritual tapestry that bonded the congregation. She attended Calhoun County Training School. Bobbie eventually enrolled in Culinary School to master her passion for cooking. She was a remarkable cook and shared her delicious meals with family friends and the community. Bobbie served as the chairman of the Homeowers Association Advisory Board in Hobson City. Bobbie's warmth and generosity knew no bounds. Her commitment to helping others was evident in her dedication to the community, where she worked diligently in the community garden, made sure all the neighborhood kids were safely on their school buses and often opened her home to those in need, offering not just food, but love. Barbara was not just a mother to her cherished daughters, Tina, Nigeria, and LaShaun, but she was also a beloved maternal figure to many in her community. On the morning of September 17, 2025, Barbara Jean Wright answered the Master's call and joined the heavenly choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, Napolean Phillips and Ora Dee Wallace and her sister Lynette. Bobbie's memories will forever be treasured by her daughters, Tina Williams, Nigeria Williams, and LaShaun Wright; Amari Williams, Zymarria Edison, Jakyius Williams, Xavier Edison, ZiAnique Smith, and Baleigh Williams; great-grandchild, Nylen Curry; brothers, Larry F. Williams, Bernard (Sharonda) Wallace, and Patrick Phillips; sisters, Wanda Williams, Patricia Funderburg, Juanita Williams, and Kimberlee Pyles; uncles, James Allen and Johnny Forbes; aunts, Linda Allen, Gloria Forbes, and Yolanda Forbes; and a host of other relatives and friends. Barbara Jean Wright may have left this world, but her spirit will forever live on in our hearts and through the countless lives she touched. Let us honor her memory with love, laughter, and the sharing of our cherished memories.
