Homegoing Celebration Remembering the Life of Mrs. Betty Ann Swain Wilson, 77, of Talladega (formerly of Alpine) will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Destiny Mission International House of Fellowship with Prophet Darrell M. Keith officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. There will be a public viewing for Mrs. Wilson on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 1-6 p.m. at the S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Talladega. BettyAnn entered this world to the union of the late Mr. Jerry H. Swain and Mrs. Plumer Garrett Swain in Talladega, Alabama on November 19, 1943. At an early age, Betty confessed Christ and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She attended church faithfully until her health began to fail. Betty received her formal education in the Talladega County School system. She had over 30 years of dedicated service at Wehakee Yarn Mills, and after retiring she continued to work as a private caregiver. Along Betty’s life journey, she gave birth to her only child, a son name Johnny, that would later be the joy of her life. As she continued her travel through this earthly journey, she later met her forever love, Mr. Billy Wilson. Her love for people never allowed her to meet a stranger, if you knew Betty, you knew she always said what she meant, and meant what she said. She was filled with so much love, joy, and laughter. Betty will truly be missed by all the hearts she touched and joy she brought to everyone she encountered. On the afternoon of December 17, 2020, surrounded by loved ones, Betty’s life’s journey ended peacefully when she answered her master’s call; and upon entering those pearly gates, Betty was welcomed home with outstretched arms by her father, Jerry H. Swain Sr., her mother, Plumer Swain, her brothers Jerry H. Swain Jr., Willie L. Swain, Eddie Swain Jr. Betty leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her companion, Billy Wilson, son, Mr. Johnny (Sheronica) Swain of Childersburg, Alabama; grandchildren, Johnny L. (Taney) Taylor, Jynasia L. Swain, and Kendarius Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Keyoisha, Jontavion, Honesty, Jaree, and Marahzi; sisters, Jannie Powell of Detroit, Michigan, Rosie Lee Garrett, Minnie (Demos) Garrett, Dorothy S. Keith, Mary A. Swain of Alpine, Alabama, and Maggie Evans of Childersburg, Alabama; brother, Kindness (Janelle) Swain of Talladega, Alabama; a special nephew, Prophet Darrell M Keith, whom she loved dearly; her best friends, Cora Jane, Dorothy, and Betty Jane, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
