June 1, 1952 - February 5, 2021
As any adamant sports fan knows, in any meeting of opposing teams, there will always be one winner….one who reigns victorious! So, it is with life and death. Our days upon this earth are numbered. While we are here, we feel that each day is a win. Then death invades our ranks, and it can seem like a loss. However, we know that death is not a loss, but in fact, the ultimate win when you are in Christ. The final buzzer has sounded on this side, and our beloved has won and received his reward. First Quarter Mr. Willie Jemison was born on June 1, 1952 to the late Mr. Clarence and Mrs. Ruth Richardson in Talladega, AL. He was fortunate to share his childhood with four siblings: John, Michael, Jearlean, and Earlean. Second Quarter At an early age, Willie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and united with Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Talladega. He attended Talladega County Training School where he participated in football and excelled in academics. He graduated in 1970 and further engaged in baccalaureate studies at the prestigious Talladega College. Third Quarter Mr. Jemison retired from the Talladega City School System after more than twenty-eight years of dedicated service. He worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Talladega and was a substitute bus driver. He was an official with the East Alabama Official Association as well as a certified HVAC serviceman. Fourth Quarter Anyone who ever encountered Willie, knew of his unwavering passion for sports. He enjoyed reading and cooking. He had a tremendous impact on many. On Friday, February 5, 2021, Mr. Jemison transitioned from labor to reward at this home.
