Wendell Paul Gover Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wendell Paul Gover's earthly journey began when he was born to the union of Alfonzia and Betty Nobles Gover on August 4, 1959 in Pell City, Alabama. Early in life, Wendell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and later became an ordained minister. Wendell received his formal education in the St. Clair County School System and was a member of the Class of 1978 from Pell City High School. In 1991, Wendell decided to dedicate his time and service to his country in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm by enlisting in the US Army. While serving his country, Wendell's primary specialty was AH-1 Attack Helicopter Repairer. Prior to his honorable separation from the US Army, Wendell was the recipient of The National Defense Service Medal, The Army Service Ribbon, and The Overseas Ribbon. At the time of his passing, he was the owner of Gover and Gover, LLC, a limo transportation service in College Park, Georgia. Wendell, affectionately known as "Wendell Paul" to his family and friends was the proud father of six children, Wendell, Jaquiel, Nick, April, Amiah, and Whitney. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children. Wendell was an avid sports fan who loved watching sports and although he was a die-hard Alabama fan, his favorite color was orange. When it came to fashion, Wendell was the GQ guy. Being a photographer, he had to dress to impressed and be a chauffeur of the best. Automobiles and the finer things in life was all a part of Wendell's lifestyle. He always had a goal to become an entrepreneur and with that ambition, he opened his own business as a photographer and his limo service, "Gover and Gover, LLC". His love for family and the community prompted him to give and assist anyone in need without the desire of recognition. On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, while under the care of Southern Regional Medical Care in Riverdale, Georgia, Wendell peacefully transitioned from labor to eternal rest joining his parents, Alfonzia and Betty Gover, brothers, Ephren McCoy, Kenneth Gover, and Adrian Taylor and sisters, Stephanie Beavers and Vickie Gover. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: three sons, Wendell H. (Micahelia) Gover, Jaquiel Gover, and Captain Nick T. Beavers; three daughters, April (Gregory) Johnson, Amiah Gover, and Whitney Gover; two brothers, Alonso (Deanie) Gover and Christopher (Sharon) Gover; four sisters, Felisha Gover (John) Carter, Alisia Mays, Sylvia Moore, and JoAnn Burch; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
