Vanetta Ragland

It is with heavy hearts that we grieve the peaceful passing of Ms. Vanetta Ragland, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed this earthly realm on July 23, 2026, at her home residence, surrounded by the steadfast love of her son, Demarkus Ragland and daughter in law, Tierra Ragland. Born on January 25, 1967, in Talladega, Alabama, Vanetta was a vibrant spirit, forever in charge and radiating warmth to all who knew her. Vanetta, the elder of two twin daughters, always carried a sense of leadership and strength that inspired those around her. A proud graduate of Talladega High School, she embraced knowledge and growth, earning her bachelor's degree later in life from Jacksonville State University. Her professional life saw her flourish as a manager in the retail industry, where her leadership and compassion shone brightly. Affectionately known as "Neet from Knoxville" she was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Vanetta had a heart for family and found great joy in bringing loved ones together. She especially loved hosting family gatherings, where she expressed her love through cooking. Preparing meals for others was her love language, and her kitchen was a place filled with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable memories. She now reunites with her mother, Lillie Bell Armstrong, and her sisters Linda Hawkins and Diane Armstrong, where the bonds of love are eternal. Her laughter, love, and exuberance for life painted colorful memories for her family and friends. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her beloved sons-Demarkus (Tierra) Ragland, Conrad Ragland, Jr., and Brad Ragland-and her precious daughters, Sherica Armstrong and Raven Ragland. Also mourning her departure are her brother, Billy (Jacqueline) Armstrong; bonus brother, Roderick Welch; sisters Vanzetta Armstrong, and Sharon (Theodore, Jr.) Conner; as well as a loving circle of special friends: Brenda Storey, Carolyn Jemison, Sheila Patton, Angela Curry, Zandra Elston; twenty grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and countless other relatives and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and joy-a reminder to cherish each moment and to hold family close. As we gather to celebrate her life, we carry with us the luminous spirit and everlasting love that Vanetta embodied. In this moment of reflection, we invite all who knew and loved Vanetta to gather, embracing the love she generated and the lessons she imparted. Her legacy will forever inspire us to lead with love, just as she did.
