Teresa Jackson

Our beloved Teresa Ann Jackson, peacefully departed this life on April 11, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on December 16, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama, Teresa was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Jonnie Etta Groce Jackson. From a tender age, Teresa embraced her faith and became a devoted member of the Talladega Church of God. Raised in a family that valued education, she flourished within the Talladega County School System, ultimately graduating from Munford High School in the Class of 1975. Teresa pursued further education and dedicated her career to serving others as a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the healthcare industry for many years. A woman of simple joys, Teresa found delight in crocheting beautiful blankets, watching her favorite television shows, and savoring delicious meals. Her laughter and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Jackson, Jr., along with her beloved grandparents, Leonard Jackson, Sr., Bertha W. Jackson, S.T. Groce, and Beluah Risee. She was also preceded by her brothers, Lamar, Andrew, and Paul Jackson, and uncle Joe Groce, as well as aunts Mary (Sonny) Phillips and Doris (John) Proctor. Those who remain to honor her memory include her devoted mother, Mrs. Jonnie Etta Groce Jackson; her loving sisters, Pastor Wanda J. Turner of Munford, Alabama, Sheila J. Bias of Talladega, Alabama, and Mary Nell "Mug" Jackson of Munford, Alabama; her sons, Antjuan Felice "Smurf" Jackson of Huntsville, Alabama, and Jonathon Allen Jackson of Austin, Texas; and her grandchildren, Amileona LaDashu Jackson of Anniston, Alabama, Isabella Johnson of Ohatchee, Alabama, Brooklyn Terrell of Talladega, Alabama, and Em Mysia Hall of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Landon Terrell and Ka'Loni Terrell; aunts, Essie V. Groce of Anniston, Alabama, Julia J. White of Pickerington, Ohio, and Ruth Lovan of Detroit, Michigan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the extended family of those whose lives she touched. As we bid farewell to a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, we carry her spirit forward in our hearts, forever grateful for the time shared and the memories made. Rest in eternal peace, dear Teresa. Your light will always shine brightly among us.
