Mrs. Rosie Curry Welch was born on March 13, 1958 in Talladega, Alabama to the union of Frank Curry and Willie Mae Rhoden Curry. Rosie dedicated her life to her family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Rosie accepted Christ at an early age, ultimately uniting with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout her life, her faith guided her path as she visited various congregations, spreading warmth and kindness. A devoted tennis racket stringer for the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB), Rosie later embraced the role of housewife, nurturing her family with steadfast love and selflessness. Rosie's journey intertwined beautifully with her beloved husband, Clifton Welch, Sr., whom she called her soulmate. Together, they cultivated a rich family life, welcoming the joys of children-Kayla and Clifton, Jr.-and cherishing the laughter of their grandson, Nicholas Johnson. With a heart big enough to encompass everyone, Rosie was a fierce protector, a candid voice, and an anchor of strength within her family. Her caring nature was rivaled only by her spirited personality, an admirable combination that captivated those fortunate enough to cross her path. Among her many joys, Rosie found happiness in simple pleasures: reveling in the classic episodes of "Gunsmoke" and keeping up with the latest soap operas, all while savoring quiet moments spent with music and her beloved grandson. Whether immersed in her favorite YouTube videos or sharing candid conversations, she illuminated the lives of others with her vibrant spirit. On Saturday, February 7, 2026, Mrs. Rosie Curry Welch peacefully traded this walk of life for eternal rest. As we reflect on Rosie's profound legacy, we mourn her absence while celebrating the many rich memories she has gifted us. She now joins her parents, Frank and Willie Mae Curry, sister, Annie (Sam) Turner, brothers, Robert Curry, Jimmy Curry, and Jesse Garrett, and grandson, Eric Stringer, in the heavenly realm, while forever remaining etched in our hearts. Rosie leaves behind her devoted husband, Clifton Welch, Sr.; her caring daughter, Kayla (Tommy Twyman) Welch; her loving son, Clifton (Tamika Compton) Welch, Jr.; and her cherished grandson, Nicholas Johnson. Her memory will also live on through her brother, Eugene (Mary) Curry; her sisters, Mary Nell Martin, Ruth (Terry) Duncan, and Margie (William) Jackson; her special nephews Jesse (Sheryl) Garrett and La'Koren Bradford; and her treasured niece, Felicia Duncan, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
