Ronnie Edwards

Ronnie Edwards, affectionately known as "Quack," was born on December 17, 1953, in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Walter and Beatrice Edwards. Ronnie was a loving, kindhearted, and good person who touched the lives of many people. He had a personality that made him memorable, and those who knew him will always remember his warm spirit, his sense of style, and the joy he found in the simple things in life. Ronnie was a proud graduate of Anniston High School, Class of 1972 and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Throughout his working years, he was employed by Southern Plating and Tyler Union. He was also a talented barber, using his skills to serve and connect with people in his community. Ronnie had many passions. He loved going to the casino, enjoyed dressing sharp, and took great pride in his appearance. He also loved painting. Above all, Ronnie was a great cook. His family will especially remember the delicious meals he prepared and, in particular, his unique and beloved tomato soup with pork chop in it-a dish that was truly his own and a special part of the memories he created in the kitchen. On Sunday, September 6, 2026, Ronnie departed this life peacefully at Regional Medical Center. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beatrice Edwards; his son, Ronnie Edwards, Jr.; brothers, Goldstein Mallard and Walter Edwards, Jr.; sisters, Willie Wilson, Mary Mason, and Estella Lancaster; and nephew, Milton Edwards. Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Deborah Edwards; his children, Kenydia (Yolanda) Bowie, Tiffany (Phillip) White, Sharon (Tramale) Garrett, and Jale McElderry; and his grandchildren, Datveon, Kejaun, Jeremiah, Jacob, Javen, Summer, Braden, Jehland, Kyla, Kayson, Mason, and Jaire. He is also survived by his brother, Charles (Mary) Edwards; sisters, Nacy Whatley, Earnestine Munford, Beatrice (Clark) Cunningham, and Cynthia (Thomas) Cunningham; stepsons, Clarence Elston, Christopher Jacobs, Jr., and Darrius Ware; sisters-in-law, Tina Tarrant and Ventra (Derrick) Brown; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Though Ronnie has left this earthly life, his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. His laughter, kindness, creativity, love of family, sharp style, and the many memories he created will never be forgotten.
