Robert Taylor's earthly journey began when he was born on June 11, 1968, to the parentage of Evelyn Taylor and Robert C. Miller in Talladega, Alabama. Robert accepted Christ at an early age and united with Antioch Baptist Church where he was a member and sang in the choir. He received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Talladega County Training School, Class of 1986. Robert was a star athlete while in school and was a member of the TCTS Fighting Tigers Football and Basketball team. Upon completing his education, Robert joined the work force and soon after began his career in the construction industry with many years of dedicated work as a concrete finisher. Later, Robert started his own business in Montgomery, Alabama, Taylor Construction. He had to retire due to his failing health. Along Robert's 53-year path on his earthly journey while working in Auburn, Alabama near the campus of Tuskegee University; one night out after work he met his soulmate and the love of his life, the former Ms. Abena Myers. Together they became one when they were united in Holy Matrimony on December 31, 1996, a New Year Eve's night wedding in Chicago, Illinois, and to this union they were blessed with two sons, Damani and Bakari. Robert was affectionately known as "Jeek" by his family and friends. He was very kind-hearted, fun-loving and reserved with such a gentle spirit who loved his family and was loved by many. Robert was a dutiful son and brother. He was an avid Auburn War Eagle fan and enjoyed watching football, being with family and close friends, discussing cars, and listening to his favorite entertainer Tupac. One of his most proud accomplishments was being on his high school winning state championship team and that photo remaining on the wall of his high school gymnasium.
