    Robbie Swain

    February 12, 1939 - January 1, 2022

Mrs. Robbie Swain, 82, was born on February 12, 1939 to the late Mr. John Chatman and the late Mrs. Virgie Garrett Chatman in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Robbie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System. Upon completing high school, Robbie met and married her soulmate, Mr. E.J. Swain and to this union, two beautiful children were raised. Robbie enjoyed caring for her family and being a devoted and dedicated mother and grandmother. Following the passing of her husband, Robbie's assurance and perseverance to her family was intensely exemplified when she uprooted from her home in Alpine, Alabama to relocate and travel the world with her daughter and grandchildren living her happiest life as a proud Military Mom making lifelong memories with the joys of her life. Robbie's 82-year life journey was completed on January 1, 2022 as she gained her heavenly wings and answered the Master's call for eternal rest while under the care of Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Once gaining her heavenly wings, she was reunited with her loved ones who has gone before her including her husband, Mr. E.J. Swain and parents, Mr. John and Virgie Chatman, sister, Katie M. Bell, brothers, Arthur L. Taylor, Jessie J. Taylor, Willie Taylor, John Chatman, Jr. and Ernest Chatman. Robbie's loving memories will forever be remembered and cherished by loving and devoted daughter, Rosita Moseley of Woodbridge, VA; son, David (Damita) Chatman of City of South Fulton, GA; three grandsons, Stefan White of Woodbridge, VA, Gregory Myrick of Alexandria, VA and Kameron Chatman of Macon, GA; one great-grandson, Braylin Myrick; God granddaughter, Cinthia Cortes; one sister, Marie Chatman of Detroit, MI; one brother, Cecil Chatman of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law, Clara Garrett of Talladega, AL, Faye Swain of Apple Valley, CA, Datie (L. C.) Gilbert, Beatrice Garrett, Marian Swain and Mae (Arthur) Swain of Alpine, AL, and Mary (Michael) Swain of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Kenny Swain of Lincoln, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
