Priscilla Lawson-Calhoun
April 24, 1964 - April 6, 2022
Ms. Priscilla Lawson Calhoun was born on April 24, 1964 to the parentage of Lee Otis Lawson, Sr. and Annie Florence Morris Lawson in Talladega, Alabama. Ms. Calhoun confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a choir member and on the Pastor's Aid committee. Later in life, Ms. Calhoun continued doing what she loved and enjoyed which was serving the Lord and working in his vineyard when her faith led her to join fellowship with Faith Temple Ministries under the leadership of Pastor James Curry. She was the Secretary of The Healing Hands Ministries organization. Ms. Calhoun received her formal education in the Talladega County School system and attended Talladega County Training School, known today as Talladega County Central High School. Ms. Calhoun, known to many as "Cilla", was a God send. She was a caregiver to everyone and loved children. When it came to children whether family, friends or just neighborhood and community children, Priscilla was mother figure to all. She had the sweetest spirit and was always willing to give you a smile when she greeted you. Her kind heart and giving soul will always be remembered by all those she has touched and encountered in so many ways. Priscilla found great joy in decorating and designing floral arrangements, but most of all, Priscilla love to cook and it was shown and demonstrated whenever she catered for events over the years. God has chosen an Angel for his Garden of Love that will be missed immensely. On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, while on a Christian tour with her family and friends in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Calhoun traded this walk of life to spend eternity with the Lord while under the care of Bethesda North Hospital. Preceding her in death were her father, Lee Otis Lawson, Sr., mother, Annie Florence Morris Lawson, brothers, Jerome Lawson, Michael Weatherspoon and James Bradford, sisters, Denise Lawson, Joyce Mitchell and Quinzella Twyman, and nephew, Gary Lawson.
