Peggy Williams

Born on September 3, 1947 in Talladega, Alabama , Peggy Lee Williams was a cherished member of the Williams family, the third of ten siblings, brought into this world by the loving union of Elbert Williams and Stella "Vada" Williams. Peggy was a radiant spirit whose life touched many, forever clothed in the warmth of love from her upbringing her parents. Peggy's journey began in the vibrant halls of Westside High School, where her zest for life and learning flourished within the Talladega City School System. After graduation, she ventured north to Highland Park, Michigan, drawn by the allure of new experiences. Yet, it was her deep-rooted love for the simple beauty of country living that called her back home to Talladega. Throughout her life, Peggy was celebrated for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her greatest pride and joy came from her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Peggy's life was a testament to the importance of family bonds, as she nurtured her loved ones with the same care she received from her own beloved parents. Returning to Alabama, Peggy devoted herself to the service of God, finding a spiritual home at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to her family through various jobs, including roles at Talladega Healthcare, Spring Valley, and McDonald's. But her legacy extended beyond her employment; Peggy's compassionate spirit was particularly evident in her service to the children of her community, driving many to and from Eastside and Westside Headstarts. A gifted hairstylist, she also opened her home to children, allowing parents to work while creating a loving environment filled with laughter and warmth. Her love of cooking was profound-believing firmly that a well-prepared meal could heal almost anything. On March 15, 2026, while in the comfort of her home, Peggy Lee Williams transitioned to eternal rest while enveloped by the loving presence of her family. She is now reunited with her cherished parents, Elbert and Vada Williams, as well as her siblings George Williams, Sharon Williams-Wilson, and Bobby Joe Williams, and her goddaughter, Bridget R. Groce-Braxton. Peggy leaves an enduring legacy through her three daughters, Keesha Young, Taneesha Williams, and Shevon Williams. Her love will continue to thrive through her grandchildren-Quenshekeya (Kameron) Jordan, Jeremysha Williams, Christopher (Temeika) Williams, Quintravious Boone, Quasean Young, Emoree Williams, Nikeria Williams, Korre Nya Miller, Leeasia Williams, Kelleceea Young, and Sharayvon Williams-along with twenty-seven treasured great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished siblings Clara Scott, Tommy Williams, Laneal Williams, Brinda Williams, Steve (Jacqueline) Cook, and Julius (Yvonne) Williams, a special niece, Frieda Williams; God granddaughter, April Groce; very special friend, Josephine Twyman; and countless relatives and friends who will forever keep her spirit alive in their hearts. As we gather to reflect on Peggy's life, let us embrace the light she radiated-a life adorned with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. While she will be profoundly missed, her spirit will resonate within us forever, weaving a tapestry of remembrance that binds us, reminding us of the beauty in life's journey and the love that endures beyond goodbye.
