Morgan LaKesha Hawkins, a radiant spirit whose life was a testament to love, joy, and unyielding faith was born on June 22, 1998, in Talladega, Alabama, Morgan blessed the world with her vibrant presence, captivating those around her with an infectious smile and a laughter that brought sunlight into the lives of many. As a devoted member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, Morgan embodied faith and service, nurturing the spirit of community within the youth department through her involvement in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. A gifted individual, she thrived in academics and extracurricular activities during her years at Huffman High School, where she distinguished herself not only as a stellar student-serving as vice president of her junior and senior class-but also as a talented basketball player and section leader for the saxophones in the band. Her passion for music and her steadfast spirit remained a source of joy for all who knew her. Following her high school graduation in 2016, Morgan pursued her passion for helping others through nursing at Lawson State College. Her caring nature flourished further in her role as a Sous Chef at Danberry Assisted Living in Inverness, where she brought joy to residents through her culinary talents, serving them with love and dedication until her passing. Morgan's adventurous soul was fueled by her dreams of exploring the world alongside her beloved grandmother, Mary. With a heart full of love and an infectious zest for life, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to her family and friends, especially her brother, Samuel, embodying the role of a caring sister and a steadfast friend. She became everyone's keeper, offering advice, comfort, and laughter, creating cherished memories in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Morgan departed this earthly realm at the age of 27, on January 25, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and laughter, embraced in the hearts of those who loved her dearly. She is now reunited with her cherished father, Rodney Hawkins, and loving grandmother, Theresa Hawkins, her spirit soaring high as she watches over us all. Left to celebrate her life and remember her vivacious spirit are her devoted mother, Stacey Hawkins; her beloved brother; Samuel Hawkins, III; grandmother, Mary Morgan; grandfather Samuel Hawkins, II; caring aunts, Cecelia Hawkins and Alicia (Tavous Suttle) Hawkins,; godmothers, Angela Hooks, her namesake, NiKesha Hamilton, and Joy Washington; cousins, Mortavuis Hawkins, Damion Hawkins, Kason Suttle, and Skylar Suttle; special uncle, Maurice Kelly; the love of her life, Tyra Young; her besties; Daijah Juran, Crystal Gary, and Jamiya Lawson; extended family and a wealth cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever have her etched in their hearts.
