Missouri Caver

Born on May 11, 1931, in Talladega County, Alabama, Ms. Missouri Lee Foster-Caver was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Will and Mrs. Grace Foster and the fifth of ten cherished siblings.A vibrant spirit with an unwavering faith, Ms. Missouri accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Munford, Alabama. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her decades of devoted service to her church and its community. Known affectionately as "Ms. Missouri," she held numerous vital roles, including President of the Usher Board for over 20 years, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Senior Missionary Society, Matrons, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, and member of both the Senior and Adult Choirs. She also contributed her time and talent to the Floral Committee, Church Printing Ministry, and the Baptist Training Union. It was through her radiant smile and gentle presence that she welcomed all who crossed the church's threshold, infusing her community with love, compassion, and warmth. Ms. Missouri was also a proud member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Chapter #760, and worked with the Community Resource Development (CRD), assisting with various community initiatives.Beyond the church, her talents flourished as a seamstress, with each stitch telling a story of her creativity and dedication. Friends and family will forever treasure the clothing, quilts, and wedding accessories she lovingly crafted, all imbued with her spirit and artistry. In her professional life, Ms. Missouri retired from her steadfast service at the Department of the Army's Directorate of Logistics at Fort McClellan, Alabama, after many years of dedicated work. With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the passing of Ms. Missouri Lee Foster-Caver, who departed this earthly realm on October 21, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia has left a void in our lives. Once entering the heavenly kingdom, she was reunited with her two children, Roderick Caver and Pearl Tooson; one granddaughter, Alishia Nicole Caver; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Foster;four sisters, Ollie Walker, Mae Grace Cross, Gladys Nell Knox-Jefferson, and Dr. Annie Pearl FosterMoss; and four brothers, Luther James Briskey, Willie B. Foster, Charles Foster, and Rev. HughLawrence Foster, I. Ms. Missouri's life was a shining example of faith, love, and service. She touched countless hearts and left behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and strength that will live on in all who knew her. Ms. Missouri was united in marriage to Mr. George Caver, and together they were blessed with six children-three daughters and three sons. The love and kindness of Ms. Missouri will reverberate through the hearts of all whom she touched, and she will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her children: Sandra Dorman of Munford, Alabama, Charles, Michael Caver (Annie) of Houston, Texas, Traci M. Pleasant (Carl) of Columbus, Georgia, and Terrence Caver of Munford, Alabama, amongst a tapestry of 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her legacy forward. She also will be remembered by her brother, George Larry Foster (Della) of Houston, Texas, and a cherished friendship with Ms. Annette Garrett, serving as testaments to the bonds she nurtured in her lifetime.As we remember Ms. Missouri Lee Foster-Caver, let us carry her light forward, sharing her spirit of faith, love, and kindness with all we encounter.
