Our beloved Millerneace Calhoun Swain, age 61, departed this earthly journey on April 4, 2026, in her cherished home in Alpine, Alabama. Born on November 29, 1964, to the proud union of James Edward Calhoun and Annie Jo Lawson Calhoun in Talladega, Alabama, Millerneace will be remembered not only for her beautiful spirit but also for the love she spread generously to all who crossed her path. Millerneace, affectionately known as "Bodie" and celebrated as "Miss DIVA," embraced life with vibrancy and style, making her mark as a fashion queen who understood the art of joy. She became a devoted member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in her youth and later joined Destiny Mission Church, serving with steadfast faith until her health began to decline. Her passion for life was reflected in her commitment to both her family and her community, as she enthusiastically supported her grandchildren-her beloved "three caramels and one chocolate drop"-in every endeavor. A proud graduate of the Talladega County Training School, Millerneace's industrious spirit shone through her dedicated work with various esteemed companies. From Georgia Pacific to Eissman Automotive, she labored with diligence and a smile, never allowing her challenges to dim her light or her humor. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to connect made her a friend to all-never a stranger was found in her warm embrace. In her final days, as she often playfully proclaimed, "Wait until I put these feet back on the floor, I am going to bring the DIVA back!" With that enduring spirit, she transcends to a place of peace, united again with her beloved parents, James and Annie Calhoun, brothers, Harry Charles Calhoun and Walter Calhoun, sister, Mae (Johnny) Jackson, and sister-in-law, Annette Kelley Calhoun, all who have preceded her on this journey. Millerneace leaves behind a rich tapestry of love woven with the memories she shared with her devoted children, David Calhoun, Lakendra (Demetrius) Swain, Tamela (Deneilius) Calhoun, Cassandra "Teaca" (Craig) Turner, Latoya Frazier, and Takarius Turner. Her legacy continues with her precious grandchildren, Carter Garrett, Chosen Garrett, Creed Garrett, and Kashton Wilson, and she looks on fondly from above as she awaits the arrival of her grandchild, Baby Calhoun. She is survived by her three loving brothers, John Henry (Brenda) Calhoun, Roger (Mary Francis) Calhoun, and Perry Calhoun; three sisters, Beverly (Tommy) Swain, Janice (Andre) Phillips, and Carolyn (Kenneth) Richmond; two dear aunts, Sarah Williams and Eliza Swain; Lifelong Special Friend, Gary Swain; sister-in-law, Laura Calhoun; and an extensive network of family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. As we come together to celebrate the life of Millerneace Swain, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love, and the joy she brought into our lives. Her legacy will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
