Homegoing Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Mary A. Hall, 83, of Talladega, Alabama will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 2 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with Elder James Best Officiating. Interment will follow in Talladega Memorial Gardens.There will be a public viewing for Mrs. Hall on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Talladega.On May 7, 1937, in Talladega, Alabama, birth was given to a baby girl from the parentage of John Henry and Bessie Swain Sillmon. Mary Alice was one of seven siblings. She was a virtuous family provider and loved her family. She was an energetic, fun-loving and kind-hearted matriarch that will be cherished immeasurably by her family.At an early age Mary Alice accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Faith Whole Truth Church under the leadership of Bishop Norwood where she served faithfully. She loved the Lord with all her heart and made sure she raised her children in the churchAlong Mary Alice’s life journey, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. C.J. Hall and to this union nine children were raised, cared for, and loved. Later in life, she met her longtime companion of 40 years, the late Mr. Walter Nettles.Mary Alice was employed many years by the plant formerly known as Tyson before taking on the full-time duty of being a housewife and tending to her children and grandchildren.Mary Alice Hall, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on the evening of November 28, 2020 at 83 years of age while under the care of Brookwood Citizen’s Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, Alabama.She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. C.J. Hall; longtime devoted companion of 40 years, Mr. Walter Nettles; son, Michael Hall; two brothers, Johnny Sillmon and Elmon Sillmon; and two sisters, Lorene Reaves and Letha Funderburg.Loving and fun memories will forever be cherished and remembered by her five daughters, Mary Hall, Lue Ann Hall, Lugenia (Roland) Walker, Diletha Hall, and Brenda (Rashad) Holtzclaw; four sons, Willie Sillmon, Albert (Sandra) Hall, and Roy (Genice) Hall; two brothers, Jamie Sillmon and Henry Sillmon; twenty-five grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
