January 24, 1951 - July 13, 2021
Luctricia Stockdale Brock was one of nine loving children born to the union of the late J.C. Stockdale and the late Florine Barclay Stockdale in Talladega, Alabama on January 24, 1951. Luctricia's 70-year life's journey has truly been a blessing to everyone she has encountered and all the hearts she has touched along the way. Ms. Brock accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Belview Baptist Church. Because of her love for the Lord, she continued serving God when she joined fellowship with Kelly Springs Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member and servant of God until her health began to fail. She loved attending Sunday School and going to church. Working as a Pastor's Aide was her passion along with being intensely involved with the dining room committee. Luctricia received her official education in the Talladega City School System and was a graduate of Westside High School Class of 1969. Soon after graduating, Lucretia worked various jobs including working as an Aide at Talladega County Training School, known today as Talladega County Central High School, a dietician at Point Aquarious, and until her health began to fail, she was employed 21 years with Georgia Pacific in the Boiler Room, which is when she inherited the name "SAM". Her working career ended as a receptionist with EMA. Luctricia always illustrated the depiction of a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend by caring, loving, baking, and cooking for her family and friends. Entertaining family and shopping came easy for Lucretia as this was what she enjoyed doing. Luctricia was a fun loving, kind-hearted, and enthusiastic person who had many affectionate appellations by her family, friends, and co-workers. "Ludena", "Granny Wue", "Ha Lue", "Granny", "Granny Lue", "Mama Lue", "Sam", and "Lue" is what you would hear often when in the presence of Ms. Luctricia. On Tuesday morning, July 13, 2021, after God had graciously allowed us the privilege to love and enjoy the life of Luctricia, he whispered quietly and said, "Well done my good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many." At this time Luctricia accepted her Master's call by saying, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" and she accepted her new heavenly wings and crown of righteousness and boarded the farewell train to her new eternal home joining her parents, J.C. Stockdale and Florine Stockdale and brother, John Stockdale. Luctricia leaves behind to cherish her loving memories a beautiful daughter, NaTasha (Timothy Edison) Brock; one son, Kenneth (Sharon Taylor) Brock; three sisters, Theresa Stockdale, Gwendolyn S. Wilson, and Janice S. Smoot, all of Talladega; one bonus sister, Earnestine George of Auburn, Alabama; four brothers, Walter Stockdale of Pell City, Alabama, Elder Karyes (Carol) Stockdale of San Diego, California, Jimmy (Sheila) Stockdale, and Jesse Stockdale of Talladega, Alabama; three aunts, Mary Barclay of Atlanta, Georgia, Bessie Lee Brown of Baltimore, Maryland, and Lucille O'Hara of Heflin, Alabama; two uncles, Houston (Charlene) Barclay and Herman Barclay both of Anderson, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Timeshia T. Brock, Kenneth Beavers, Kenderius Jherel Brock, O'Bryan Davis, Brandon McKinney, Carmen Moody, Quintasia Kelly, and Nariah Brock; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and other friends. Luctricia will truly be missed but remembered by all the lives she has touched.
