Linda Wilson

Ms. Linda Gail Wilson, affectionately known to many as "Gail," departed this earthly realm on April 10, 2026, just three days shy of her 63rd birthday. Born on April 13, 1963, in Talladega, Alabama, Linda was the cherished daughter of William L. Jones and Ada Mae Atchison Wilson. From an early age, Linda embraced her faith, uniting with Peace Missionary Baptist Church, where she passionately served as a faithful member until her health began to decline. Her education at Talladega High School equipped her with the resilience and dedication that characterized her work in various roles, particularly in environmental services and as a beloved housekeeper and custodian at Crown Textiles, Masterbrand, and Citizen's Hospital. Her journey also led her to serve as a nutritionist at Talladega College and Citizen's Hospital where she touched many lives with her kindness and warmth. Linda had a special gift for bringing people together through her culinary skills. Known for her beautifully crafted salads, sandwich trays, and elegant cold trays, she took immense joy in cooking and entertaining family and friends, creating memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those she loved. Her green thumb flourished in the garden, where she poured her heart into nurturing life and beauty. On Friday afternoon, Linda embraced the promise of eternal life, reuniting with her beloved family members who had preceded her-including her parents William L. Jones and Ada Wilson siblings, Arthur Wilson, Sr. Levi Wilson, Eddie Wilson, Sr., and Susie Ann Scales. Linda leaves a precious legacy to forever be cherished, including her sons, Justin Cordell Wilson and Tarrance Wilson; her husband, Mr. Cleveland Garrett; her brothers, Jack (Elaine) Wilson and William "Goo-Goo" Twyman; her loving sisters, Ola Mae (James) Wilson, Lillian Wilson, and Jessie Mae (Wayne) Howell; her grandson, Aiden McIntyre; her special niece, Sanyiah Ford; aunts, Mary Jane Wilson and Vanessa (Roderick) McKinney; her uncle, John (Lisa) Twyman; her dear sister-in-law and friend, Kem (Curtis) Embry; alongside cherished friends, Kay Moton, Gloria Jean Richardson, and Gloria Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever keep her vibrant spirit alive in their memories. Let us come together to celebrate Linda Gail Wilson-a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. May her legacy of love, laughter, and hospitality continue to inspire us all.
