Mrs. Linda J. Lipscomb-Turner was born on March 27, 1956, to the late Sarah Ann Hill and Willie Lipsomb, Jr. Courtland, Alabama. Linda graduated from Courtland High School in 1974 and continued her education at Alabama A&M University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Linda had a passion for children which propelled her to later received her Early Childhood Education certification from Ayers Technical College. As a result of the love she had for children, Linda dedicated 19 years of service at Cheaha Regional Headstart. Linda was a faithful and devoted member of Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church family. She thoroughly enjoyed attending choir rehearsal, working with vacation bible school, attending church and being in the presence of her church family. She was definitely a true missionary and servant of God. Linda was a member of Sister of the Quarter 4th Quarter and District #9 Juris of Wish, OES. Along the path of Linda’s life’s journey, she met and fell in love with her soulmate, Mr. Bruce Turner and on July 22, 1977 they were gracefully united in holy matrimony; and to this union was born three loving children, Shelita, Bruce Jr., and Brandy. The two were inseparable and the Godly bond they shared was unbreakable. Linda and Bruce were very devoted to each other sharing their beliefs and love for God. On the morning of February 16, 2021, while surrounded by loved ones, Linda’s life journey ended peacefully when she answered her Master’s call saying “Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant”. Linda was welcomed with outstretched arms at those beautiful pearly gates by her parents, grandparents, and brothers, Michael Lipscomb and Wayne Hill. Linda’s memories will be forever cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Bruce Turner; children, Shelita Turner, Bruce Turner, Jr. and Brandy Turner Graham; her sister, Judy (Larry) Boyd; aunt, Lea Mayes; and her grandchildren; Bria Tuck, TaShayla Turner, Cameron Turner, Harmony Turner, Aniiyah Peeples, and Synceir Turner; her brother-in-law, Ronell Turner; and her sister-in-law’s, Sandra (Bernard) Tuck, Willie Pearl (Willie C.) Williams, Margie Turner, and Willie (Pat) Turner; her godson, Quincy Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
