May 30, 1953 - June 6, 2021
Leamon Garrett, Jr. was born on May 30, 1953 to the union of the late Leamon Garrett, Sr. and the late Mary M. Swain Garrett in Talladega, Alabama. Leamon received Christ at an early age and united with St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church in Alpine, Alabama. He received his childhood education in the Talladega County School System and was a graduated of Talladega County Central High School, formally known as Talladega County Training School. He later began his working career at Kimberly Clark Paper Mill and after 42 years of being a devoted and dedicated employee, Leamon began his retirement. Leamon had a passion for fishing and hunting but working at Kimberly Clark was his life. He loved to work, and he loved his job. Late Sunday evening, June 6, 2021 Leamon peacefully transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal resting place when he accepted the call of his Master while surrounded by his love ones in the comfort of his home under the care of Affinity Hospice. Preceding Leamon in death were his brother, Roland Garrett and sister, Felecia Garrett. Leamon leaves to cherish in his memory his caring and devoted companion of over 5 years, Kayla O. Chatman; two sons, Gabriel Garrett and LeMetric Garrett; two Godchildren, Kayden and Kaylie Chatman; three brothers, Marcus (Shelia) Garrett, Jesse James (Linda) Garrett, Willard (Hattie) Garrett; one sister, Brenda Garrett; stepmother, Peggy Garrett; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
