Latonya Green

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. LaTonya Roshell "Tonya" Green, who departed this earthly life on March 24, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. LaTonya was born on April 3, 1974, in Lincoln, Alabama, to the cherished parentage of Charles Collins and Priscilla Ann Green Wills. From a young age, LaTonya embodied a spirit of warmth, generosity, and steadfast strength. She accepted Christ as her savior and became a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she nurtured her faith and community bonds throughout her life. An accomplished graduate of Talladega High School's Class of 1992and a member of the JROTC, her early career began in the healthcare sector as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She later rose to the position of quality supervisor in automotive manufacturing with WKW, demonstrating her dedication and work ethic for over fifteen years. LaTonya relished life to the fullest. She had a flair for travel, an impeccable sense of style, and a lively personality that shone through in every conversation. She was unapologetically herself, always ready to speak her mind, advocate for those she loved, and tackle life's challenges with grace and determination. Among her nearest companions was her furry friend, "Money King," her beloved Shih Tzu, with whom she shared countless joyful moments and conversations that turned ordinary days into cherished memories. Latonya was a vivacious soul, known for bringing life to every gathering. Her infectious laughter and spirited dance moves could brighten even the cloudiest of days. A die-hard Alabama fan, she was fondly remembered for her enthusiastic cries of "Roll Tide!" which echoed through many family gatherings and celebrations. This passion extended to her incredible cooking; her Sunday soul food dinners embraced family and friends, filling their hearts and bellies with love and warmth. LaTonya's earthly journey was enriched by her family and friends, and she will be forever remembered for the joy she brought to their lives. Preceded in death by her mother, Priscilla Ann Wills; her beloved daughter, Zynia (LuLu) Gooden; stepfather, Lawrence Swain, sister, Shavon Green, brother, Charles (Bay) Dothard, and grandparents, Eva Gray Green and Willie and Mary Francis Collins; and several other cherished family members. LaTonya's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, including her devoted son, Condarius Treyon Holmes, and her cherished grandson, Nhy'zerion Seals. LaTonya is also survived by her father, Charles Collins, stepfather, Herbert (Beck) Wills; sisters, Katrina Green and Jackie Dothard; brothers, Ron (Andrea) Dothard, Christopher (Jessica) Weed, and Jamie (Monica) McGowan; special grandfather, Robert Smith; special brother, Benny Ray Fields, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Savion Green, Shailyn Weed, Christopher Weed, Jr., Jay Truss, Salyric Green, JaQuavius Green, Marqeast Scott, Lil Ron Dothard, Janiah McGowan, and Ariyah McGowan; best friends, Stacy Hall, Latoya Oneal, Patrice Richardson, Shernevoline Sanders, and Felicia Collins; special aunts, Vanessa (Darry "Duck") Elston; aunt who was like a sister, Erica Lynn Green; uncles, Larry Green, Laddy Green, James Collins, Raynard Collins, Freddie Collins, Lee Henry Collins; aunts, Dorine (Arthur) Green Smith, Tammy Green, Melinda Ann Green, Georgia Lee Wills, Alice Frazier, Dorothy Hunter, Grace Collins, and Margaret Thomas; special cousins, Rhonda Knight, Freita Green, Randy Green, Jr. Green, and Taneeka Green; cherished and countless other cousins and friends who were blessed to know her. LaTonya's bonds were deep and loving, extending to her goddaughter, Paris Collins, godson, Antonio Pope, and dear friends who felt like family. Though LaTonya's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever illuminate our hearts. We gather to share laughter, tears, and stories that encapsulate a life lived fully and with love. As we celebrate her life, we hold dear the moments that made her so special. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may we continue to reflect the light she brought into our lives.
