LaDale Untrice Garrett

LaDale Untrice Garrett, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this world on February 23, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on October 8, 1974, in Alpine, Alabama, LaDale lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. From an early age, LaDale accepted Christ and nurtured his faith at Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. He excelled academically and athletically throughout his years, making history as the first student to receive a trophy for weightlifting at Winterboro High School. After graduating, he devoted more than 25 years of his life to Tyler Union, where his commitment and dedication were a testament to his strong work ethic and passion for his craft. LaDale was a man of many interests and talents. He was an avid outdoorsman, who found peace in hunting. His heart swelled with pride for the Alabama football team, and his friends and family will fondly remember his renowned grilling skills, which brought people together and filled their hearts (and stomachs) with joy. His exuberance for life, unwavering spirit, and capacity to entertain will never be forgotten. Upon his passing, he was reunited in the heavenly realm with his beloved father, Obie Garrett, and brother, Curtis Garrett, creating a triumphant homecoming. LaDale will always be remembered for his infectious smile and gentle heart. He is survived by his wife, Monica Garrett; children, Darrian Garrett (Casidhe) of San Marcos, TX, Delton Quvalante Garrett of Huntsville, AL, Dorian Wilson, Jr., Kaydence Holliday, and Mieara Ball. He was adored by his seven grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. LaDale leaves behind a rich tapestry of family, including his cherished mother, Bobbie Garrett; brothers, Terry (Gloria) Garrett of Alabaster, AL, Jerry (Annetta) Garrett of Richwood, TX, and Kelvin Bernard Garrett of West Lake, LA. He also cherished his sisters, Denise Garrett Wilson of Alpine, AL, Jean Spaulding (Gregory) of Smithville, VA, Deborah Taylor (Undray) of Smiths, AL, and Shawnta Harrell (Eric) of Smiths, AL; mother-in-law, Wanda Veldhousen; bonus sister, Bess Garrett; bonus brother, Delron Garrett; and a wealth of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever have his memories etched in their hearts. LaDale's life was a beautiful melody, resonating with love and warmth. As we honor his legacy, we are reminded of the deep love he had for his family and the many lives he touched through his kindness. In honoring LaDale's memory, we welcome all who knew him to share stories, laughter, and love. His spirit will forever dwell in our hearts, as we continue to celebrate the beautiful man he was. May we carry forth his legacy of love, joy, and passion for life as we navigate through our days without him. Rest peacefully, LaDale. You are deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
