Julia A. Morgan

Judy A. Morgan, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and nurse, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devoted service to others. She was born on May 18, 1949, in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Wallace and Willie Ann Elston. Judy committed her life to Christ at an early age and united with Greater Thankful Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend F. F. Andrews. She was educated in Anniston, attending Thankful Elementary School before graduating from Cobb Avenue High School in 1967. She went on to receive her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Harry M. Ayers Technical Trade School. Judy dedicated 42 years of her life to nursing at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Her calling to care for others extended far beyond her years of employment, as she continued to care for patients in need with the same compassion and kindness that defined her life. In September 1972, Judy married the love of her life, Dennis Morgan. To this union, two beautiful daughters were born. Judy had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed many things in life. She loved playing bingo, visiting the casino, traveling, animals, caring for her plants, and cheering on her beloved Auburn Tigers. Above all, Judy treasured spending time with her family. She will be remembered not only for the lives she touched through nursing, but also for the love and encouragement she freely gave to her family and friends. On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Judy answered the Master's call and entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Willie Ann Elston; grandparents, Jesse and Alberta Elston and Sam and Lillie Mae Moore; and her sister, Linda G. Elston. Judy leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters, Valiria Morgan and Marcia (K-Rob) Thomas; grandchildren, Ke'Andra Morgan, Ethan Thomas, and Morgan Thomas; great-grandchild, KeMari Morgan; brothers, Leonard (Paulette) Elston and Rodney (Demetria) Elston; sisters, Alberta (Rev. John) Pink, Priscilla Elston, and Veronica Elston; special great-niece, Ava McCluney; aunts, Doris (David) Boyd and Martha Moore; nieces and nephews, Rodricus (Demita) Elston, Shonda (Glenn) Burks, Breanna Elston, Dr. Stephanie (Darnell) Harper, Travis Elston, Michael Pennix, Jessica (Mo) Momodu, Johnathan Pink, Amari Elston, and D'Nia Elston; great-nieces and great-nephews, Keira, Destini, Rodricus, Kendra, Kimberly, Tony, Thomas, Savannah, and Reagan; dear friend, Dollye Edmondson, and a host of other relatives and friends. Though Judy's earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of love, faith, compassion, and service will continue through the many lives she touched. Her family will forever cherish the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. Rest well, Judy. Your work here is done, but your love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
