Jonathan Elston

In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Mr. Jonathan Rashad "Boggie" Elston, who was born on October 7, 1987, in Anderson, Indiana to the cherished parentage of Stanley Elston and Bonnie Robinson Goggins. On the afternoon of July 6, 2026, Jonathan transitioned to eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. From an early age, Jonathan embraced a deep connection with his faith, uniting with Rocky Mount Missionary Baptist Church, where he actively participated in the youth department, nurturing a spirit of joy and community. He received his education within the Calhoun County School System, concluding in a proud graduation from Anniston High School. Life's challenges never deterred his determination; despite health difficulties, Jonathan worked various jobs tirelessly, with his most recent role being at Bridgewater. A vibrant soul, Jonathan dazzled all with his infectious love for life. He had a passion for baseball and a steadfast loyalty to his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. Yet, nothing compared to the warmth he found in the company of family and friends-his true treasures. Jonathan's humility, coupled with his exuberant spirit, created cherished memories that will echo in the hearts of many. He was preceded in passing by beloved family members: his grandparents, Mattie Turner, Willie P. Elston Sr., and Leola Elston; his bonus father, Charles Goggins; and uncles, Frank Cunningham Jr., Ernest Cunningham, Robert Elston, and Bobbie Turner Jr. Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Stanley (Muriel) Elston and Bonnie Goggins; his dear sisters, Jennifer Mosley and Ashley Stockdale (Diamond) Buckhanon; his grandfather, Bobbie Turner Sr.; aunts, Tina (Douglas) Taylor, Connie Knox, Donnie Davis, Willie Vertreese, Corene (Johnny) Jordan, and Melody "Tina" Dickerson; bonus aunts, Sandra McMillian and Nola Grant; uncles, Ronald Hill, Vonell Wilson, Henry Elston, Willie P. (Sharon) Elston, Joel Elston, and Mark "Clay" Dickerson; and a host of other relatives and friends who will honor his memory and legacy. As we honor Jonathan's life, we remember a gentle soul who brought laughter, love, and light to all around him. Though he has departed from our sight, his spirit will forever inspire those who were blessed to know him.
