Jimmie Weed

Mr. Jimmie Lee Weed, affectionately known as "Slick," left this earthly realm on March 27, 2026, while embraced by the love of his family at St. Vincent's Hospital in Pell City, Alabama. Born on September 22, 1952, in Talladega, Alabama, Jimmie was a cherished son of Artice and Mae Frances Weed who instilled in him the values of humility, kindness, and faith. From an early age, Jimmie accepted Christ and became a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he found comfort and strength in his spiritual community. His journey through life saw him thrive in the foundry industry before dedicating many years to environmental services as a custodian with the Talladega County School District. In this role, he not only contributed to his work but also shared his warmth and humor that brightened the days of students and staff alike. Jimmie was a remarkable soul, possessing a rare blend of joviality and humility. Known for his ability to keep others laughing with his witty charm, he was also a gentle spirit who walked through life with grace. His love for music inspired him to dance to any rhythm that moved him, while his daily strolls through the neighborhood allowed him to connect with friends and neighbors, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. As we reflect on the immense legacy left by Jimmie, we find comfort in the love he shared and the countless memories he created with those around him. He rejoices now with his dearly departed parents, Artice Wills and Mae Francis Weed, brother, Arthaniel Weed, and sisters, Carolyn Weed, Darlene Weed, Itelia Weed, and Joann Weed, having answered the Master's call with grace and faith. As we release him back to the arms of the heavens, the spirit of his legacy forever alive in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Mr. Weed leaves behind a host of beloved siblings, including brothers Marcus Weed, Terrance (Alicia) Weed, Daryl (Kesia) Hunter, Derrick Hunter, and Riccardo Woodard; sisters Patricia Hill, Virginia White, Vetina Weed, LaShonda (Bruce) Garrett, Alma Woodard, Doretha Wills, Debra Wills, Delores (Johnny Ray) Allen, and Syvetlana English; along with a stepmother, Eunice Wills; aunt, Joann Johnson Fomby and Georgia Bella; special nephews, "Lil Richard, Jay, Jeremy, and Eric; special niece, Laterika; special friends, Richard, Clyde, Victor, Keshia, Cynthia, Judy, and Queda; and a multitude of relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory. In honoring the spirit of Jimmie, we reflect on the laughter he brought into our lives, the kindness he extended to all, and the music that will forever echo in our hearts.
