Mr. James Truss

September 10, 1946 - April 17, 2022

Mr. James Columbus Willis Truss, 75, was born on September 10, 1946, to the late Arthur Truss and the late Willie Askew Thomas in Talladega, Alabama. James accepted Christ at a young age and would attend various churches throughout his 75-year earthly journey. He received his formal education in the Talladega City School System and attended Westside High School. In the mid 70's, James relocated to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania for better job opportunities. It was at this time, he met his wife, Ethel Truss, and together they raised five beautiful children. James became an inspector for Armstrong World Industries in Beaver Falls, working faithfully until his retirement. James, known as "Willis" to his family and friends, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and cheering on all the professional teams located in Pennsylvania, especially from the Penguins to the Pittsburgh Steelers. You could often find him walking to the store rather than driving his car because walking is something he loved to do. On Sunday, April 17, 2022, while surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home, James Columbus Willis Truss peacefully transitioned from this walk of life to his eternal home joining his parents, Arthur Truss and Willie Thomas, son, Willis Lamar Truss and brother, Matthew Truss. Cherishing his memories are his loving wife, Ethel Truss; son, Justin Truss; three daughters, Raya Truss, Shannon Kirkland and Anitra Truss; one sister, Margaret Truss; twelve granddaughters; five grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
